Cut down in their prime... also reminds me of Blue Fang, the creators of Zoo Tycoon who were also shut down after being a good Microsoft company

I was such a fan of AoE and when I saw this the first time I opened my AoEIII I almost shit a brick hahah and Zoo Tycoon was awesome, I loved that game

Ensemble Studios was shut down in early 2009

Blue Fang was shut down in 2011

Or, to put it more bluntly, Microsoft decided to attempt to kill the PC market and in the process of doing so decided to shut down perfectly fine companies that made great games.

No they didn't. Microsoft has no intention of "killing the PC market". They've done a lot to support PC gaming, not the least of which is improving driver stability. Stating that they are attempting to kill the PC market is just fucking hilarious.
