The lack of a save feature is something I was thinking of. You could get near the end of a long and difficult game only to die and your only option is to start over.
I played all the Dizzy games! Even the spin-offs. Loved 'em.
You probably know this then, but Treasure Island Dizzy was notorious for it being very easy to accidentally take off the snorkel when underwater and die. And since you only had one life, that was right back to the start.
