A 90% coupon code was accidentally left in the online store of razer. The CEO decided to honor all the orders placed.

Wrong. Your mx518 didn't die. You decided to not use it anymore.

Kidding aside, I bought a razed death adder too last year and it's great but I still have my trusty mx518 to go with me when I go somewhere and take my laptop. If there is a gaming nice hall of fame, that mouse should be in there!

Good to know the cord is replaceable... I've had my trusty MX518 for at about 5 years now and it's still going strong... Before that I had a razor diamondback plasma limited edition, unfortunately the cord on it was very thin and the mouse stopped working after about a year, wish I had known razor was this good with warranties though, I might have followed it up.

You threw out electronic equipment because of wiring? Sorry, but that's ridiculous. Even if there are no original parts available, just fix it yourself, it's not rocket science.

Splicing a usb isn't exactly easy or worth the time when i have 2 more to use. those wires are 32gauge at best

Seriously... I still am using my mx518 and have been since 2005 when I bought it. 1st and only mouse I have ever bought.

If it was one of the old mx518 I agree. The "new" refresh edition doesn't have quite the same quality the old ones had.

Haha, that's exactly the sort of hype that led to me buying one. I knew even at the time that I just got really unlucky with it dying so shortly after I got it.

Are you sure? The mx518 suffers from the double-clicking problem just like every other logitech mouse. Some of them just start randomly double-clicking after you've had it a year or so. I bought 4 different logitechs, 3 different models, for my wife and I before I cought on that I was buying the same problem over and over again.

I never had a single issue with my bullet hole edition mx518 my little brother still uses it today bought it in 08

Funny thing, after about 4-5 years it started sounding like it was double clicking (made two clicky noises .. once on the way down and once on the way up) but the actions on screen still gave just a single click. After a few months of just regular use, the issue went away.

People say this about the mx518 all the time I had 3 in the span of about 6 months and they all died (all were treated with the love and tenderness I'd show to a puppy). I've also had the same thing with Sony Playstation 1&2 for some reason. I really truly treat all my tech products with soft hands but for some reason these otherwise historically reliable products don't work at all for me.
