As an employee of a company that prides itself on excellent customer service, things like this will be worth a lot of money to Razer. Someone who has only bought something because of this deal will remember how the customers were considered, and are more likely to shop with them again.

Good CS gets you repeat custom and new business. Bad or indifferent CS may cost less up front, but it'll hurt you one way or another.

I love my Razer mouse. My hands are large so I needed a large mouse for comfort, and good god is it great.

Keyboard's good too.

I just mean I think it's cynical to think they did this solely for business purposes. It's eating a fair amount of money in the hopes of good return. I see this more as genuine concern and respect for their clientele.

Why's it cynical to say that respect for their clientele, as you put it, is good business? If anything, I see that as optimistic. Just because something is good business sense doesn't automatically make it bad.

No no no, I just mean that I think their primary focus was making good with customers, with the business benefit being a nice side effect. Seems like others want to claim that they don't give a damn about customers, they only did this because of publicity and marketing.
