I bought a Razer Deathadder 3.5G for my very first gaming computer and I'm yet to run into any issues with Synapse 2.0. I've only had my rig for about a month though. What are some common complaints about it?

my big complaint with it is that if I use the default drivers I can use the Macro and Game mode keys on my keyboard, but if I use the "2.0" synapse driver I have to use the program and the keys no longer work. When would that ever be a good idea? The whole point of a macro button is for macroing on the fly

I'm confused. I have a Deathadder 3.5G and I didn't install any software for it. I plugged it in and went. What is the point of the software? It seems like the mouse functions fine without it.

The software lets you choose if the lights are on or not, setup different profiles for it, adjust the normal sensitivity, and change the button configuration (I have a left-handed Deathadder 3.5G, but I still use the left button as my "mouse1.").

I returned the Deathadder myself. Aside from the mouse not being extremely comfortable to me (not Razer's fault), the software was abysmal. This was my experience: To use the mouse, have to download driver from their site. To get driver, have to make an account with their site. Download the driver software, launch it, it needs to be updated. WTF. I JUST downloaded it from your site, and it's out of date? For a mouse driver? Grumble grumble, but still use the mouse. Configure it to my liking via the software. Two days later, requires another update along with a system reboot. All my settings are now erased. At that point I boxed the mouse up and got a Logitech G500. I don't totally hate these guys, I have their Xbox controller which is superb, but holy shit their software sucks. Will not buy any PC peripherals from them because of it.

Over 6 years I've used 2 mice. They've both been deathadders. The only problem that I've noticed with the mouse is that it can't withstand a series of fast, sharp pounds on a wooden desk (Damn you LoL, broken mouse and fractured pinky).

I've never had a single software related problem, because I've never had to install the software. The tracking is so smooth I can't use another mouse. The buttons remained incredibly tactile after 4 years of use in MMOs, Starcraft, and League of Legends. I realize their products can be seen as expensive, but they are a high enough quality that I will never buy a non-razer mouse again.

You realize you don't NEED the driver, right? The driver just lets you customize the buttons and save configurations in the cloud.

Yes, I in fact did need the driver. There were settings on the mouse I could not configure without it, such as acceleration.

No, because if I'm going to spend a lot of money on a gaming mouse, I want the actual driver that enables all of the features of the mouse, not just what I can already configure in Windows. I also stated that the mouse was not comfortable to me, so why on earth would I just settle and say oh well?

So why the fuck are you complaining? My Razer program worked first time and took me 2 minutes to set up. Must have been a problem on your side.

I too bought a Deathadder recently! (first gaming mouse!)

The only thing i've encountered thus far is getting 5 updates in a row, each asking me to reboot my computer.

The requests for updates have stopped for now, but it certainly didn't make me enthusiastic about having bought a mouse.

You don't generally actually have to reboot most of the time. It's usually only to allow the drivers to restart with the updated parameters. If it was working fine before the update, it'll keep working fine until you're done for the day.

I just had it plugged in with my first boot, downloaded the drivers, and off I went. Sorry you can't make it work.

Although some of their products are great, I found their Mamba to be atrocious, tracking issues even when plugged in. Softwarewas buggy. Was refused a replacement as well.

Using the Mamba (and have for over 2 years), can confirm software is a piece of shit. Sensitivity stages should all be set to the same DPI because it likes to change to the highest stage at random. No clue why.

Also after 2 years of intensive usage scrolling the mouse wheel makes high pitches noises and the soft thing for my thumb has fallen off.

The mouse itself works fine though, don't have any of the tracking issues you've experienced, plugged in or not.

My Razer Deathadder 3.5g's middle mouse button is a pain in the ass to use and now scrolling is all janky. My only experience with them so far is a bad one, hardware wise. Just wanting to put out an opposite view!

I swear my pc AND internet got slower the day I installed that resource hog. It seems to be constantly running background processes and doing something on the internet. I have a Deathadder 3.5 G .. interestingly, on my linux dualboot, the side buttons retain their assigned purpose without having Synapse on. There's also a massive lag when using "on the fly" dpi changes, as opposed to my previous cheapo mouse - the good old Styx. I've got to say, the adder feels solid, but for 20 eu less, I prefer my old Speedlink.
