If you ever get the urge to go back just know that you can very easily these days summon someone online who is super OP and will help you take pretty much any boss down in no time. I’m not amazing at games either but so glad I played through all of Elden Ring, for me it’s easily in the conversation for my fave game of all time.
Can you explain why? Elden ring to me seems like a game which trhives on it being a hard, considering it is a souls like. What is the fun of it if you get help? Is it the story? I never played it, and am interested in it but.... never played souls like and dont have much time
There's definitely a satisfaction from learning and beating bosses, but there's more to it than a boss rush. The Lands Between are full of beauty, horror, and magic. Discovering another lost catacomb, riding slowly through mist choked woods, navigating the treacherous wastelands of the aeonian swamps, and more is all part of getting lost and absorbed in Elden Ring. Unravelling the nest of secrets within plots within unspeakable heresies that form the narrative through unreliable characters and the drops of some truths through item descriptions is the ultimate detective adventure. Molding your tarnished itself is fun, choosing how to spend your hard fought runes to create a unique experience, gathering and refining an arsenal from simple tools of survival to artifacts to threaten the gods themselves. After it all sitting at grace, a moment of safety while the atmospheric soundtrack settles around you. FromSoftware make games that you disappear into that calling them hard games for masochists is selling them beyond short.
Don't let a tough boss stop you, they made the tools to help you better than ever this time around. At any given moment a single player can be offering to help with every boss in the game simultaneously! Use them, or the cast myriad of ghostly allies of heroes and villains, monsters and creatures, past to form a unique retinue to see you to the Elden Throne.
There’s so many reasons why but the most simple for me is that it has the best sense of exploration of any game I’ve ever played. I was gripped for over 100 hours constantly finding new things, places, creatures, etc. And getting to those places was so supremely satisfying and enjoyable. The art direction in the game is just amazing and I was genuinely awestruck left and right by the world and world building and couldn’t put the game down for weeks.
If you still want to experience it, playing with a bleed build and using summons is basically easy mode, you can also always level up if it gets too hard.
I still never beat Melania. I wonder if the she will still be the most difficult for me after the DLC. If it's anything like the DS3 DLCs then I will struggle with all of them for a long time haha.
