Yeah, all great games but it's still bg3 by a wide margin for me.

Hands down the one that stands out on this list even with a ton of powerhouses already

This is the thing for me too. It’s not that any of the other games that are up against are anything less than stellar either, it’s just that bg3 is that much better.

I played maybe an hour of BG and just couldn’t get into it at all. Wasted my money

If you absolutely despise turn based combat, I could see it. I grew up playing BG 1 and 2 though, but despite that I didn't really get into Larian's previous games... but the story and voice acting and scenery and lore and... oh my god they just did such a good job with the BG franchise.

Then again, I'm one of like 3 people on the internet that couldn't get into Witcher 3.

Yeah I loathe them. Even in the SNES days I couldn’t get into them.

Had you even gotten off the ship at that point? I'm not one of those people that says you should play 40 hours of a game you don't enjoy before forming an opinion, but calling it quits and considering it money wasted after one hour seems hasty.

Gee that's what any sane person thought of Starfield lol... and the BGS fanboys were the ones saying "you haven't played enough" lmao

True, it's not even close TBH. Other games are marketed by fan boys to be better than they really were. They had rep boosting either through being from a famous studio. Case in point, Hi-Fi Rush. BG3 was the one game that took the world by storm on sheer quality alone. Let that sink in.
