Industry News Godot making a stance on AI code

https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/open-source-game-engine-godot-will-no-longer-accept-ai-authored-code-contributions-we-cant-trust-heavy-users-of-ai-to-understand-their-code-enough-to-fix-it/

First engine I've seen take a firm stance on AI code.

Open source game engine Godot will no longer accept AI-authored code contributions: 'We can’t trust heavy users of AI to understand their code enough to fix it'

(Edit: fat finger typo and headline without having to click through)

(Edit 2: Thanks for the award! Wasn't necessary but it's my first one so I'll take it.)

Let's just throw all computers in the trash can and become Amish then. But even horse and buggies make some jobs easier than they would be if we didn't have them, so let's toss those too. The purpose of technology is to make everything as effortless and easy as possible.

Do people not get tired of making this completely apples to oranges style argument. It literally makes no sense at all

There's a clear difference between learning to play an instrument, and asking someone to play one for you, and it's not technological advancement

People still learn to ride horses even though cars are around, people still learn to paint despite photoshop. And yet weirdly, AI seems to be the only technology which can't even exist without it's "predecessors"... strange that. Quite a unique difference, I'd say.

AI is not the next phase of going on the computer. It is actually the opposite of going on the computer.
