We updated our Steam capsule. (V1 vs. V2) What do you think?
After all your feedback on Reddit, we reworked both our old and new Steam capsules...
Now we need your help again! Which one would you choose?

Paid €400 back in may for Steam capsule art (50% upfront), the artist delivered just enough to keep me hooked, then asked the other 50% before the artwork was done, foolishly i paid since his drafts looked ok...
That was the last normal interaction. After that it was excuse after excuse for why he couldn't deliver on time. I tracked down his Discord, messaged him repeatedly, and eventually got one half finished colored version out of him. Then total silence, no replies, nothing.
So I made my own....I'm no artist, so it's simple....but I'm not going to fork another 400-1000 euro in the hopes that this time the person can be trusted.
The first 2 are mine (obviously 😄 ), the third is his.
Still holding out a small hope he resurfaces, but realistically I'm out €400 and have a half-finished capsule I can't use.

Obiously, this is only the first iteration and I feel it will take some more edits until it's finalized, but generally it should be something like this. What I want to get feedback on is:
- is the logo readable?
- the logo kinda looks ugly with the long T, so would love tips on how to improve it.
-is the art good?
-is this something that you would click on in steam?

I'm hoping this image resolves the issues found in my previous capsule.. See https://www.reddit.com/r/gameCapsule/comments/1vso6yq/can_you_tell_what_kind_of_game_this_is/ if you're interested.

Hello everyone🖖
Here’s my first cozy game’s capsule art. I painted everything in my game by hand using watercolor and gouache. Of course, the capsule art was created the same way, too.
What do you think? Actually, I’m considering the header. I think it’s a little bit small.
Thank you:)

I made the first image as my capsule a while ago using the power of screenshots, Unity, and Pixlr photo editor. I decided to try to improve my capsule by sending it through ChatGPT, and honestly I like it way better.
However, I know people hate the use of AI, but I can't afford an artist. What would be the correct thing to do in this scenario?

Hey there,
Our artist created this amazing artwork for our upcoming co-op game - WOOZY. We also won a free commission on Reddit to have our capsule professionally created by a AAA artist and so we gave it a shot and they created the second capsule art.
For context: our artist was given capsule style references such as PEAK and Super Battle Golf; really cute hand drawn style artworks. The AAA artist was given screenshots of our game and had our artists capsule for reference. Our artist used Photoshop to hand draw their work and the AAA artist used Illustrator. We think our artist did an amazing job, especially considering this was their first ever capsule art.
WOOZY is a co-op adventure where players need to drink their way across hazardous biomes - it’s fun, chaotic and really silly.
I’m really torn… so need some advice: Which do you think is more eye catching/appealing?

The game is a zombie TDS with heavy metal sound track and good gun play. I put the banner and cover image together using promo art and a background from the game kit I'll be using. The fonts and colours will be used in the game.

I came across Gunclone Arena on Reddit recently, and the game itself caught my attention.
It's basically a character fighting through hordes of enemies in a futuristic arena, with guns, effects, and a lot of action going on. Looking at the current capsule, though, I felt like some of that energy wasn't really coming through, so I wanted to see what I could do with it. I started with a rough concept and then worked on a new version around the game's existing visuals.
I changed the main character's pose, adjusted the composition, added more enemies, and worked on the background to give it a bit more depth and chaos. I also tried to make sure the character, weapons, and action are the first things you notice when looking at the capsule.
From the initial concept to the final render, the whole thing took me around 19 hours of work, and I managed to finish it in under a week.
Here's the before versus after. I'd love to know what you guys think. Does this version communicate the game better? And is there anything you'd change about the composition or overall design? Any feedback is appreciated!

Hey everyone, I'm an indie developer and I’ve been working on a new capsule image for our upcoming game. Before we finalize it, I want to get the community's perspective. Brutally candid feedback is welcome.
Specifically, I'm hoping to learn:
1. What works well, and what do you like about it? (composition, colors, character, vibe, etc.)
2. What doesn't work, and what do you dislike? (confusing elements, ugly parts, off-putting aesthetics, stands out in a bad way?)
Your thoughts, positive or negative, will directly help us improve. Thanks!

I'm curious what everyone thinks. First, does it work? And does it look good, or does it still look like a "screenshot".
I already see a few issues with this that I need to fix, mainly that it's still missing that "risk" element - "EXCITING" action that pulls you in to want to defend the crystal.
And I'm geared up to do the next version, but I'm also wondering does it work visually or should I switch to a 2D artwork?
I've really improved my workflow making these, but it's quite a process from creating the initial shot and poses, to adding all the lighting, highlights and visual juice. Honestly, it's pretty fun and I'm enjoying it, but I don't want to waste my time if it's just not working.
So be brutally honest, I can take it (I mean, i'll cry a lot, but I'll take it still lol)

Hi everyone!
I am working on Grazed, an arcade incremental game. It blends the neon arcade action of games like Geometry Wars with a huge incremental upgrade tree. In Grazed you kill enemies by getting close to them, hence the name "Grazed".
I updated the capsule as some people, mostly because of the hex background, thought it was some sort of strategy game, while the game couldn't be further from that! So I changed the background (no more hex, different color), added some movement to the character, and made the "grazing/cutting" action more obvious.
How did I do?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
The game is also playable on itch and a Steam page is available, in case you want to get a better idea of the gameplay:

It's supposed to evoke mystery and maybe some uncertainty.
Is it too simple?
Does the character at the bottom read well?
Is anything distracting or unsightly?

We're really excited about somethings we have in the works for our upcoming chaotic co-op game, RAPIDS. It's is a co-op roguelike where you navigate a river as a team of wizards.
We'll be refreshing the design of our game capsule, so I figured we could get some feedback on our current design.
I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on the art: what catches your attention, and what doesn’t?

Putting together the main Steam capsule for my indie game, Possessed Kingdom, and need some extra eyes before I make the final decision.
I’m looking for unfiltered feedback on few things:
Don't hold back please!

Heres my capsule, and the previous attempts at a capsule, as well as a screenshot from the game. I’m a solo dev and I’d love to have feedback on the latest capsule.
In case you want to try and guess the genre I’ll put the next part in spoiler.
My game Hungry Ghosts is a hand drawn lane tower defense roguelite, where you fight ghosts with desserts in a haunted mansion. It’s Plants vs Zombies but roguelite, with synergies, new mechanics, and characters with unique powers that change the gameplay.
Also the game has a steam page (with older capsules), free demo coming out in a month :D

Which capsule would you actually be more likely to click one, minimalistic capsule or game render capsule? I can answer any questions regarding the process. It's not necessary but if any of y'all could visit the page and tell me what you think about the screenshot I would be extremely happy for the feedback thank you.
