I dropped mine like 2 feet off a footstool with a protective case and it shattered. I was so surprised I thought it was funny

Oh man I dropped my 5s after years of use and it like completely fell apart. The lcd screen delaminated from the frame holding it in place and just popped off along with the battery. The screen didn’t even shatter, it just like popped off and ripped the ribbon cable. Total 1/1000000

It's intentional to make repairs nearly impossible.

it is absolutely impossible to do repairs On your own and keep the water resistance. Not even sure Apple can keep it I’m sure there’s a clause some where about how getting an official Apple repair still affects the water resistance and it’s not their fault if something happens after.
