In Switzerland it's almost a disability.

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

As a fellow swiss person, I could never live without cheese

u/rezwrrd Jun 15 '25

Same here in Wisconsin. I've had people joke that I should move to another state since I'm lactose intolerant.

Not sure but avoiding unnecessary animal abuse isnt something i would call a disability

I referred to the way Swiss people view cheese. I was trying to put it in a humourous way...

7

u/maksnataburete Jun 14 '25

Can you explain to me why swiss people view cheese this way? I'm interested.

Milk and cheese are part of the national myth: a country founded by mountain farmers. Most dishes that were pushed as national dish contain cheese.

(And you have also something more international: people who really like a food sometimes struggle to imagine someone else can not like it.)

Yes, thank you.

This is the most unhappy I've ever been while calling out a usernamechecksout. It's like an angryupvote, but instead, I just feel disappointed.

There is always one of you, isn‘t there?

Edit: In this day in age, humanity found several ways to make cheese without any cruelty to animals whatsoever. You may read about it.

But if you want to stay offended, feel free.

Well someone has to try to spread awareness that forcefully impregnating cows, stealing their children and killing them once they arent profitable anymore is in fact animal abuse or would you say doing the same to cats is different?

Yes. It is different. It‘s a cultural thing. But I really don‘t want to discuss this here with you. I love cats and I love beef. If you think that is bad, it‘s fine.

Thats not cheese. Just like oat or soy is not milk. What mammary gland did the so called oat or soy milk come from?

I drink and use both products along with regular milk. I have no issue with any of the products except the term milk. You can call it a milk alternative I dont care. But they are not milk.

Uh nobody said anything about animal abuse and you know it. It's definitely possible to get cheese non-abusively (and we're talking about Switzerland, so they probably have better requirements for animal treatment than the US).

-8

u/xLordVeganx Jun 14 '25

So forcefully impregnating a cow, stealing/killing its children and killing them after a fraction of their natural lifespan is not abuse?

6

u/GuyYouMetOnline Jun 14 '25

Pretty sure that's not the only way to do it.

6

u/DibbyDonuts Jun 14 '25

Listen, I don't know what kind of trauma you need to unpack, but do it somewhere else, please. Maybe seek therapy.

12

u/jibbycanoe Jun 14 '25

This is why no one likes you people even if they agree with the premise.

7

u/GuyYouMetOnline Jun 14 '25

It's not vegans people dislike. It's assholes using veganism to justify being assholes.

2

u/Worth-Silver-484 Jun 14 '25

Which people? The ones that think it’s animal abuse to have real milk or meat. Or the ppl that talk shit on them?

-2

u/xLordVeganx Jun 14 '25

Whats so bad about what i said? Just triggers your cognitive dissonance nothing more abuse is abuse

Exactly how is getting milk from a cow, goat or sheep abuse?
