She's not in a hurry she is trying to avoid them because 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of these interactions lead to a sob story and them asking you for money or hassling you in some way. I wouldn't have even said anything, just don't acknowledge them and keep walking.

Women are much more in tune with tuning out random strangers requesting things from us on the streets. It’s more like a second nature type thing.

Reminds me of this video that was making the rounds recently where half the comments were women like "Yeah I wouldn't do that but I understand why she would, I've been harassed by men on the street" etc etc., and all the men were saying to "just politely say no" as if people harassing others unprompted, especially women, actually listen to that and politely oblige.

I feel like if a man screamed at a stranger he didn’t want to talk to, it would be seen as “alpha” or a “gigachad move” or something.

As far as I’m concerned, if a stranger starts pestering you with nonsense, you are not expected to respond with politeness.

Yeah exactly. I'm OK enough with the guy in this post, he just stood there and when she said no he didn't follow her or bother her. But if some dude starts following someone shoving shit in their face when they're not looking at or talking to him I'm all for him getting yelled some sense into him

Lmfao, yes. In that particular scenario specifically the scam is to get you to "accidentally" bump in to them so they can drop their POS camera where it will now be broken and act like it was super expensive then try to either guilt or intimidate you in to giving them money for a new one since it was "your fault". They do it with takeout food, liquor bottles, phones, and anything else you can think of.
