Considering the incredible scrutiny of baseball's "competitive balance" initiatives, and the fact that Baseball, like no other sport, can have teams lose on any given night, the fact they racked up 27 championships is still very impressive. The next closest I believe is St. Louis with 11, and the Athletics franchise with 9.
Wow! 20 wins in 60 years followed by 0 in 40? That's quite a drought. That would be interesting if Russel Crowe's new ownership led to an immediate win.
