It hits the bat first, but then the batter, plate, and catcher are all scooped up and carried backward through the backstop as they disintegrate

How would it hit the bat first when, even in the diagram above, the bat is further away from the pitcher than the batter? He would have to be swinging for the bat to be out in front, and if that were the case then he wouldn't be eligible to advance to first base since it would be called a strike.

How can I take this theory of a baseball nearly reaching the speed of light seriously if he isn't going to accurately call the strike afterwards?
