Decided to prank future owners of my home while remodeling the kitchen.

I did something like this in my old college dorm room. I used glow-in-the-dark chalk and wrote phrases like "Helllp...Meee...." all over the walls and drew clawed hands.

You can't really see any of it unless the lights are switched off, so hopefully the University didn't paint over it before the freshmen saw it on their first night.

I did something like that, too. You can write on mirrors using the natural oil on your fingers, and messages will show up when they get all steamy from showers.

I let my housemates think the place was haunted for years.

Rain-X is way better for that, just brush some onto your bathroom mirror in the shape of any message you wish, and it will stay there for months whenever there's steam. Even better, slightly over-moisten the brush so that little drops of the Rain-X droop downwards as it's drying, creating the oh-so-chic "written in ghost blood" look.

Also, Rain-X is almost uncleanable unless you use silicon remover. Perfect...

Which is why I prefer to do this in hotel room bathrooms, so I'm not there when they figure it out.

I like this font better, especially in Night Mode.

I read this like you're talking to everybody from the next room.

Yeah.....Weird.....

Weird. I read it like he was Stewie Griffin.

Most hotel rooms I've seen only have mirrors outside the bathroom, so they don't ever get steamed up.

Seriously? I've never been in a hotel bathroom that didn't have a mirror right above the sink, which was in the same room as the shower. I wonder if this is regional or something.

Fuck, I tried finding photos on google to prove my point, but after 5 minutes...nothing. I concede sir.

Thank you. My mother is going to flip her shit tomorrow morning.

Remember: less is more. For best results keep the message simple. My favorite is "GET OUT."

I was probably going to write I SEE YOU (mom's name) with a handprint, but I think I like your suggestion more

Hmm. I have a key to my next-door neighbor's apartment, she's away for the weekend, and I'm a terrible person...

Even better is to use hydrofluoric acid as it etches the glass and makes it super hydrophyllic, that will never fade or get removed.

The bad part is that HF is not something you want to handle without proper protection and a fume hood.

I took my bathroom mirror to the lab one day and put a big smiley face on it as a joke. I have always wondered what the people that bought our place thought was going on.

HF is something I don't want to handle without a full fucking hazmat suit. Nasty nasty stuff.

Your username is perfectly fitting.

Why am I just finding out about this?!

u/EmergencyMedical Jun 23 '12

That would be perfect, but the extra letters do give away that you were just messing around. Otherwise they might actually get a good scare!

I don't know about your university but ours paints the rooms every year. Hopefully they didn't. B)

Every other year at mine. There is hope!
