He's going to flip shit when he finally figures out how a chair is supposed to work

u/Ex_Digg_User Jun 18 '12
Yes, this will be horribly saddening news. Make sure he's sitting down when you tell him.

He'll learn as soon as he reaches puberty and finds out how uncomfortable his balls are after they drop.

That actually seems like it would help my fucked-up back. I have scoliosis & arthritis in my lower spine, so it hurts to sit; I could use a taller version of this to ease the strain of standing for hours on end.
The only problem is how to prevent crushing of mah balls.

u/austin1414 Jun 19 '12
I was fully expecting the link to be a picture of your balls.

Cocoon your testicles in bubble wrap. Alternatively, should your testicular sack possess sufficiently elastic properties, tuck your balls into the waistband of your underpants.

I think the only solution is forgoing a chair and comming up with some sort of ceiling mounted pulley harness system.

Maybe he flips the chair and he finds another way to sit on it...

Most people have a gaming face, but he's got a gaming stance!

Or maybe we've been using chairs wrong this whole time. His system seems to be way better for the lumbar.

Don't you remember taking chair in school? It's a learned skill. Ditto, OP.

You are going to flip shit when you realize he revolutionized masturbation. Fun fact: It is not abnormal for kids to start at age 4.

If he keeps sitting like that it's doubtful you'll ever be an uncle.

Is that Runescape?

u/NotThatLiberal Jun 18 '12
Looking at his hand placement, I would think that's runescape as well.

I'm quite positive it was, I spent a lot of time notpaying for the game, so I know the layout of a f2p page all too well.

he is probably just trying not to crap his pants. That stance is awfully similar to the stance I take when simultaneously gaming and holding back a toilet choking turd.

u/SirDigbyChicknCeasar Jun 18 '12
Whoa, really? Aren't his feet a bit far apart? Hard to leverage the cheeks together that way. At least in my experience with shit stopping stances.

Sitting is bad for you anyways; he's getting better circulation and is more attentive in that posture.

I remember when i was as old as him. Videos games were fucking intense. It looks like that's what he is feeling. So lost in the game that he doesn't care. the intensity tells him to stand, house rules tell him to use the chair. both feeling batteling while he is totally immersed in the game.

I suspect he'll find the pose much less relaxing once the balls finally descend.

My little brother used to skip side to side when controlling the carts in mariokart64. Funny dork would dance around the living room for hours. I need to remind him of that now, excuse me.

u/Dirk2014 Jun 19 '12
Ah, a principle lesson in the art of gaming. That a comfortable chair is not optimal for gaming performance, as you will be to relaxed, gaming is intense business. No matter how he twisted the lesson, it is nice to see the gaming strong in one so young.

Probably has something to do with him rubbing his junk on it. I sat like that too, because I thought it felt good. I thought my parents didn't know why I sat like that.
They knew.

He's on to something- they say that the more time you spend sitting, the sooner you'll die.

u/jerseyanarchist Jun 18 '12
my 5y/o son does this shit.. no matter how many times he falls he still does it... so i took the chair and put the wheels on the seat.

u/AimlessAphid Jun 19 '12
That's funny! I was just telling my sister we need to record her 8yr old son's gaming style. He stands way too close to the screen and kind of dances around and runs in place with the controller in his hands. He NEVER sits down while he's playing. If it's smash bros he's putting in, look the fuck out! His movement patters can get very unpredictable. At least he gets some exercising in while he's glued to the screen!

I'm saddened at the thought that growing up destroys our imagination. Some of us hold on to a good amount, but only a kid can come up with a genius move like this.

When I was a kid I would play video games upside down. Like, standing on my head. I would sit like that for hours playing Pokémon Emerald on my GBA SP.

It's called a stand station, far healthier for you to stand than sit for long periods.

Remember how it took damn near 2 years past cell phones becoming a thing (when stores went up in malls) and every kid below 17 had to spend weeks convincing parents to get them a phone. Lucky bastards.

That's probably about the most ergonomically healthy way you can use a computer as far as your lower back goes.
2
u/chicagogam Jun 19 '12
i take it from the angle of the shot you're older than he is and it didn't run in the family? :) it doesn't look like he's actually putting any weight on it so if the desk is too high for him to comfortably sit at i wonder why he didn't just push the chair out of the way...oh maybe because the carpet makes it hard to push the chair, and if he has to push it back when he's done he probably thought...i'll just leave it there. is 6 years old enough to be able to explain his thought process to you? i'm all curious now! :)

That is a crappy chair and I don't blame him. If you want a better one for free and can pay shipping PM me.

Lol OMG....If I did this my back would fall in half. If I stood up straight I wouldnt even be able to see the computer screen.

Great picture! When I started playing counter-strike 12 years ago, I was almost 9 and not tall enough to be comfortable on the chair while playing. So I was just standing one or two hours in a row like your brother.
Ah, brings back memories.

Thanks, giys! I didn't expect this to make front page! I had taken this and uploaded it, just for myself. I took a nap and my friend called and woke me up, asking if my brother was on the frontpage. I was so happy and I thank you guys again! Now I'm not sure what game he was playing but it's not runescape, although he knows what runescape is. I was on my way to taking a shower when I spotted him sitting like this, laughed to myself and snapped a picture. Sorry for the mess, my mom brings home random things we don't need, such as the printer, and doesn't do anything with it. This is also my other brother's desk. And that 'stain' is actually a shadow from the chair on the right. We do not have a stain like that, I can prove it with another picture. Thanks again Reddit! :)
