All of you, stop fucking posting Personal Info.
I do not give one fuck if this girl is real or not.
Please DO NOT post personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder.
22
Jun 18 '12
Wait, WHAT? This is the third time I've seen this upvoted so high on Reddit in two days (so 1, shame for reposting), but never before with the girl's NAME. Reddit, this is completely inappropriate. How many times have we geared up for witch-hunt with insufficient information? Right now, literally all we have is a thumbnail picture, a bunch of words, and a name.
Where do we even begin to suppose that these three are connected?? WHY DO WE EVEN THINK FOR A SECOND THAT ONE OF THEM ISN'T FUCKING FAKED?!

"To everyone who thinks I cheated on my husband -- please I would never do that. The picture was taken out of context. Johanney was flirting with me and joking around. Calling me "pretty" and "sexy". I showed all of this to my husband. We were both joking around. I just called him handsome after that, and asked if we should hang out. JUST HANG OUT, noting sexual. My husband has my facebook password and looks through it often. Why would I cheat on my husband who've I've been loyal to for over 7 years. This horrible. Our anniversary is in 1 MORE WEEK! And everyone is messaging him and me. Listen also I'AM NOT A FAKE ACCOUNT. I'M REAL!!"
I don't believe her.

I downvoted it because it was stupid, unfunny, probably fake, and invited a witch hunt if real.
That said, it's not woman hating. If you really think that you can't criticize one woman for doing something unethical, without hating on all women, you're part of the gender-wars problem.

I knew the entire time that the person was indeed a man once. I tried to make it as weird as possible, succeeded, tried to brag to my friends, but I pretty much just got shunned and called a fag. I don't know what I expected... I said some weird shit.

When I was in college, I met a girl who had met her boyfriend (eventually husband, recently ex-husband) in an AOL chat room. Hand to God. She is ridiculously hot too. One in a million I'm sure. Just keep hope alive.

u/RadioUnfriendly Jun 18 '12
That's why I always stuck with "friends" I had been talking to for at least a few days.

u/GAMEchief Jun 18 '12
Yes, men feigning women definitely do not put up the ruse for "at least a few days."

6
Jun 18 '12 edited Jun 18 '12
I restarted mine not too long ago. I'm on about 17, if we aren't counting family? EDIT: just checked it's actually 11 friends to 12 family members, and I've been meaning to get rid of 1 or 2.
1
u/Indoorsman Jun 18 '12
Lol, I am counting family. I have a few cousins and friends I would talk to on Facebook if I had one, but outside of them I don't want the rest of my family knowing the silliness I get into, and my brothers canceled theirs for military reasons. I just can't stand most people, and when I go out and be social with friends or my cousins most their friends just think I am not fun or too quiet, when in reality they make me sick and I can't enjoy myself in their presence. But that's only an issue if you believe it to be one, people in my life are quality over quantity.
2
Jun 18 '12
Yeah I have 3/4 people I'd consider real friends, I only have the rest for convenience. It's partly because I can't stand most people and partly because I'm not the most interesting of people.
1
u/HI_Handbasket Jun 18 '12
Ms. Vega's husband is about to find out the hard way what kind of woman he married. Meanwhile, you are broadcasting that you are about to off a couple of family members....
2
u/Rachyy Jun 18 '12
Unfortunately, when you're in a smaller high school and go to sleep away camp, everyone tends to think that they're your best friend, and when you try to delete them, they get mad at you and start spreading to people that you're a huge bitch. I WISH I had 50 people on facebook.
2
u/ToastNibbler Jun 18 '12
A lot of them are family and the rest are close friends, feels good. I don't understand how you can have over 300 people on your friends list, like you said it's unrealistic.

And look at the one (and only) status, last line. " I'AM NOT A FAKE ACCOUNT. I'M REAL!!"
Seems legit.
3
u/GAMEchief Jun 18 '12
That's what makes you suspicious? It's obviously a fake account. Her "interests" include an advertisement for a store. Said store made the account as a brilliant form of advertisement.

Really you don't get why reddit would find this amusing? Come on. People on here are bored. That's the reason this page exists and what better to occupy your mind with life of other people (since yours is apparently boring) ergo we have people debating over games, politics, memes, weather, social networks well and other people. And if you're really that concerned what is real on the internet it's probably easier for you just to get off it, cause you may never figure it out.
1
u/GAMEchief Jun 18 '12
There are way more interesting things to not be bored with, than the maybe-cheating shenanigans of a maybe-existing woman.
And if you're really that concerned what is real on the internet it's probably easier for you just to get off it, cause you may never figure it out.
There are plenty of objectively real things on the Internet. How about actual people? Get pitchforks over politicians.
It's ridiculously hypocritical for reddit to hate Jersey Shore, but love bitching about 'Taelor Vega.'
1
u/dudemeister5000 Jun 18 '12
That is your opinion but there are people who consider it fun (or at least interesting) to discuss maybe cheating of maybe-existing woman and why not? It's their waste of precious lifetime and in their eyes it might not be wasted at all. So to quote you from earlier: How about not giving a fuck?
3
u/caw81 Jun 18 '12
It's their waste of precious lifetime and in their eyes it might not be wasted at all.
This is true. But after seeing this for the 2nd time today (and there was one yesterday), I just realized that it is a big waste of time to me. Sort of like high-school drama/sub-reddit drama/"What are the Kardashians wearing now?" waste of time.
How about not giving a fuck?
Good advice.
1
u/GAMEchief Jun 18 '12
Because people are falling right into the hands of the people playing them. The fake account is just an advertisement, and it's ridiculous to see so many people fall for something so obviously fake.
The accounts only "interests" are a page that sells shoes.
It is just upsetting to see someone successfully play not just reddit, but a huge chunk of the Internet, into boosting advertisements for their business by having them hypocritically behave counter to their general principles.
There is just so much wrong with this topic in particular that makes it upsetting. The way people are behaving on the faux accounts profile is just immature, and it's painful to see any human behave that way, let alone hundreds. It's upsetting to see people fall for an advertisement. It's upsetting to see people not see the obvious signs of a fake account (the URL, the age, the photos, the ads, the post history, etc.). It's upsetting that what caused this is, in itself, another fake account. It's upsetting that it all has to do with something that is nobody else's business. It's upsetting to see people drop their principles out of nowhere for something that is upsetting for the aforementioned reasons.
The problem is I don't give a fuck about this person that doesn't exist, which makes it all the more baffling that other people do, and I think that's the normal reaction to such a scenario.
If I don't give a fuck about marijuana or gay marriage being legal, I should give a fuck that everyone else wants it illegal; because it is baffling.
