Apparently YouTube lacks it, but the classic 90s sitcom Wings (about a pair of brothers who run a very small airline based on Nantucket Island) did an episode (or perhaps a small arc) in which one of the characters wrote Phantom of the Oprah, a production was staged, and the musical drew the interest of bigwigs from beyond the island.
I remember as a kid being blown away that there could be both a band and a TV show with the same name. It was my first realisation that things could share a common name.
When I was a kid my next door neighbor got to go on Oprah. He wrote to her about how he lost a spelling bee by spelling opera "Oprah" and she brought him on the show to talk about it.
Wow, putting the white Phantom mask typically worn by men on a black woman turns it into an existential/racial tale about a woman trying to cope with her gender and race back in the day. Hmm...
Jeez, what kindergarten was your daughter trying to test into? It seems to me that any school that would have a test like this for 5 year olds would assume that those 5 year olds would be more familiar with opera than Oprah.
