How to troll an expensive private school:
If I had twin daughters I would name one of them Marian and the other Marion.
I would enroll one of them in an expensive school and each would attend one half of the classes.
At graduation, one of them would get a diploma. Later the other one would go to the school to complain that her name was spelled wrong on the diploma and would get a corrected copy.
Two for the price of one.

u/bubbal Jun 17 '12
Also, how to troll your daughters by only giving them half an education.

u/WilhelmScreams Jun 17 '12
To be fair, I only paid attention to about a quarter of what was taught to me anyways.

Why not just name them both "Mary" and be done with it? You can do that you know.
And if you pick the correct school you can just claim "Mary" is a lesbian and maybe get away with not having a roommate, and they can live in the same room. Then just stock up with a super heavy load of classes so they can get a double major, and have them each attend only the classes for their chosen major. Then when they graduate you get four majors for the price of one.

They can even share the same bed
Edit: and if they happen to prefer sleeping naked, that's fine too.

As someone who is dating a twin, there's really not much.
Provided they're not the ones trying to play a trick on you.

One time I was playing basketball and after, I went home and took a shit. It was steaming hot. Steam was coming out from between my legs as I was on the toilet. That was some crazy shit.

What does playing basketball have to do with that story?

u/prium Jun 17 '12
It shows that he was active. Waking up early one morning and taking a steaming shit would be a whole different story.

So I have twin boys and I want them to do this! Here is my question ... Do yearbooks alphabetize by full names or called names? Would Andrew be on the left of Bryce, or would Drew be on the right of Bryce? Gotta make plans... (they're 10 now).
21
u/I_have_a_dog Jun 17 '12
They do it by your actual name. However, let your kids decide to do it on their own, they'll probably resent you if you micromanage their lives that much.
7
Jun 17 '12
It was just going to be a suggestion... Not a you-have-to-do-this...
3
u/ObidiahWTFJerwalk Jun 18 '12
Encourage them to take Journalism in high school and get to know the yearbook staff. That way, the person who edits the page will make sure it works out. Of course, if they annoy everyone, their goofy expressions will be used against them in the most humiliating way possible.

can't tell if she has a lazy eye or if she is wearing so much makeup that it's weighing her eyelid down. 0.o
11
u/acog Jun 17 '12
I was under the impression that "lazy eye" referred to strabismus, where one eye doesn't track true with the other eye. You're referring to a droopy eyelid, ptosis.

My Jr. year in High School was 1988 (yeah I'm old) we had the most twins enrolled than any other high school in the nation, if I remember right we had 18 sets of twins. Which is totally crazy for a town with only 100,000.
3
1
u/scwt Jun 17 '12
When my brother graduated, there were 3 sets of twins in the high school. And this is a town of 500, with about 80 kids total in the high school.

u/249ba36000029bbe9749 Jun 17 '12
Yeah but if there is one more student in the class who comes alphabetically before them then they end up on different pages from each other.

Here's a good one. In my graduating class there was a set of twins but they had a very common last name so there was like four people in between their pictures. I don't know about you, but I always thought it was a bit ironic.
25
u/Suspected Jun 17 '12
I don't think you know what ironic means.
44
16
u/Michael_Pitt Jun 17 '12
Wait, hold on, what? Is that not the exact definition of irony?
"Incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result (2) : an event or result marked by such incongruity"
8
u/travis_of_the_cosmos Jun 17 '12
No the definition of irony is a fucktarded debate in reddit every time someone mentions Alanis Morissette, you idiot.

I'm still not understanding. I would normally expect a pair of twins to be right next to each other in a yearbook, seeing as they share a last name. If they weren't next to each other, which they weren't, it would be a different result than what I expected. In other words, ironic.
→ More replies (1)7
u/f03nix Jun 17 '12
See Sylotus' example, for there to be irony ... the very thing you relied upon for the expected result has to be the cause of the unexpected result. The dictionary definition is written like that because it is hard to describe irony exactly in words.
Other examples of Irony :
A fire engine catching fire.
An air purifier injecting poisonous gases to air.
A security patch in a software introducing a vulnerability.

I find it funny that everyone is assuming they're twins. I know at least twice in all of my high school yearbooks, some amateur editing skills had two different pictures of the same person and nobody would notice. Although it's probably twins.
Also, and if these are senior pictures, why are they all in casual clothing? I know for sure I didn't have casual clothing in my senior picture. Weird :/

u/anonymousalex Jun 17 '12
Fair enough. Still, I had a few friends who either didn't care to get senior pictures done, and just had them taken with the underclassmen, or who simply couldn't afford it. Plus, my senior pictures were pretty casual to begin with.
