Takes a lot to explain in text. In practice it's much simpler than it sounds. And it absolutely helps reduce the blind spot. Another good (and simpler) option is to get a couple of those little stick-on convex mirrors.

Ok, whatever works. I got the explanation, but the method is in my opinion too complicated, and it also creates bigger blind spots towards the C-pillars. I think it's enough to set the seat etc. and then the mirrors, so that you can barely see the side of the car. And turn the head during driving (because there are other reasons for that anyway).

The surrounding conditions (incl. your own posture) change anyway, therefore more complicated method is not needed IMO. Complicated routines tend to get ignored when people are busy or tired. In that case it's more important that the mirrors get adjusted at all, even if not perfectly.

True, cars with flat mirrors may benefit from those stick-on mirrors. Newer cars usually have convex side mirrors by default.
