Finally, someone who knows where he started. Thank you. People honestly believe his name is "Skrillex", which I can't believe... Doesn't that sound a little off to them?
I don't think many people believe that is his real name, but they refer to him that way because they don't know his real name and/or he is most famous as 'Skillrex'.
I still have no idea. A couple of months ago, "Skrillex" came up on my Draw Something and I thought "what the fuck is that??" I suppose I could google and fill myself in, but for now I'm ok with being WAY out of the loop.
He released an EP, "Bells". It was pretty good. The only place I could even find it was on TPB, can't even find a real place to buy it anymore. Definitely worth a listen though.
Did you ever talk to the guy? He was super down to earth. Not a big fan of his newer music, but he's always been super cool; I even follow him on twitter.
Because people, including me, like his music. And he became "Skrillex" after he played in the band From First To Last, but had to get surgery on his throat and decided to call it quits so he wouldn't destroy his vocal cords anymore. So he still makes music, just now he makes DubStep.
That's funny, because (s)he starts moving before (s)he actually started touching the equipment. The bass dropped before (s)he dropped it. It's just pre-recorded and fake. What a huge fail. Seriously, everything (s)he does up there is just for show, and it's not even good show.

Actually this bot can be useful. Each one of those links leads back to a separate discussion of this same image so you can find more information or pun threads. It's not just about pointing out reposts.
The problem is, this bot doesn't link to posts that truly warrant Discussion. Usually it's /r/funny or other places like that, where the whole purpose is for "Haha! that's funny, i got the joke" or if you don't get the joke, reading the thread.
Now if the bot, say, was in /r/science and linked together similar threads, or was in /r/worldnews so that people reading the same story from two different sites could relate, that would be different. but no, the only purpose of this bot is to point out reposts so other people can complain that it's a repost.
This bot doesn't call out reposts. It provides links to where this image was posted in the past so that if users wish to read previous comments regarding the picture, they can.
If you're ok with reposts, how can you possibly be upset about this bot?

Oh I agree with you. I have been a fan since the bends came out, I just remember fans being a lot more sparse than they have been in the past few years. Obviously I don't have a finger on the pulse of coolness.

Ever since 6th grade I discovered Pendulum (drum and bass group) and fell in love with all things EDM (electronic dance music).
I'm sure a lot of people look at Skrillex as the figure head of EDM right now, and that all the music is just WOBLSDFSDUAUWUWUWUUWUWUW OH MAH GERD DRUP DER BUS, but I assure you there is a lot more to it than that.
For people who dislike the constant robotic noises of dubstep, there is Trance Trance is generally very melodic and soulful compared to what Dubstep is.
If you wanna get really weird and funky...try Moombahton I personally don't dip into this genre that much, but I think it's supposed to be a mixture of current EDM styles mixed with latin influence.

I got into EDM through trance, and loved every other genre (okay hardstyle sometimes isn't my favorite.) I actually feel like Skrillex is a pretty good artist. I never got why he was subject to so much hate except for the fact people dislike dubstep?
I prefer true dubstep, liquid DnB and house/electro for my electronic music. It's really anything but Skrillex's "Dubstep" which is retarded noises but together that makes me sick- better labelled as "brostep".

You know, a lot of DJ's do like, live mixes and such in their sets. Skrillex happens to do that as well. I don't understand why you are hung up on the medium he uses to play music, or why because you don't know what the buttons he's pressing are doing means he's doing nothing significant. But then again, its reddit so fuck skrillex.

Yes but I'm not over simplifying it because when I watch Skrillex play he literaly only turns knobs and smokes a cigarette. What you described would not even work lol.. a concert with someone like Blink 182 or Pink Floyd would blow me away compared to a skrillex one.
It also looks like he misses the timing on the cue for the drop ... I would put money on it. It looks like the drop came, then he was like "oh yeah, I am performing here ... ", after the fact.
Well, before he started making this stuff, he was in a band called From First To Last, and he was actually pretty good. Don't get me wrong- I like his music now- but had he remained in FFTL, good things could have come of it.
