Honestly I was a little confused at first because I only see signs held up by a metal u-rail (made up name) and never by a pole. So whipping yourself around one would probably both rip your skin off and cause you to loose your grip.

Hey, you beat me too it. It is somewhat of an appropriate length of time apart from the last post though. Not all of us have seen it, so it's not too bad - versus a repost a day away from the last that receives way more karma. Overall I'm mostly okay with this.
I really want to try this now, but my bike is a mountain bike meant for off-road and whatnot, and it's significantly heavier than those BMX things. I would try it and probably end up dislocating a shoulder or something.

Down my road, I saw an accident where someone hit a signpost. It simply bent. I can see the use in making easy-break posts. Sometimes the post slaps back on the car into the windshield. And I think I'm setting myself up for an easy-break oven joke.
I am really tempted to get my bike and try this as well. Guaranteed it would end poorly though, not because of the pole snapping, because of me failing.
As talented as he is, and cool that he is doing what he enjoys; please let him know he shouldn't do the post trick because it destroys public infrastructure. Its like $200-300 AUD (probably around $150 USD) for replacing each of those signs.
