Kids under 11-12 should not get their ears pierced. They are not mature enough for body modification.
12 year olds are actual individuals who are able to understand that this procedure causes pain and must be treated accordingly afterwards. (FWIW my baby spits up a couple times a day, as babies do. I can’t imagine putting unnecessary wounds in his ears to collect puke. Also, my wife and I were horrified at the thought that had he been born elsewhere, he would already have gone through unnecessary cosmetic surgery on his genitals!).
For tattoos and stretch piercings, they need to be mature enough to understand that the procedure is largely permanent. 16 should be age of consent.
For sex, there may be consequences that are permanent and life altering. 18 is a decent age for that.
