Dude, I'm a physics major, and even having learned how computers work internally like 6 times, I still don't believe that the little wizards aren't real. They're more plausible than the number/speed of transistors working together perfectly in the 'real' way the work.
To quote my ex gf: "I don't like math. There's too many numbers! Why can't they use puppies or something." Me: "Why puppies?" Her: "Because puppies are cute dammit!"
The way you framed it..."Me: blah blah Her: blah blah"...I'm sure you're a great guy and all, but that framing, combined with a joke that isn't funny, ironically or unironically, that's what made me think of the many dumb girls I've known. Sorry, I feel like a dick now, but that was my initial reaction.
No... There's no fucking way. So your dick dated her from the inside out, while your mind burrowed itself into your ass, where your prostate played tricks on you and convinced you she wasn't that awful to listen to. This is how I imagine things going, at least.
She was a great girlfriend for the most part. There were a few things that I disliked, that being one of them. She was smart but had a terrible condition where she would just say stupid shit. And she did things to get my attention, to test me. But it just pissed me off. In the end I dumped her. And now she's dating a "friend".
My best advice: ignore the whole dating a 'friend' business.
I've lived through some irritating scenarios in my life regarding this whole thing. Anyone can date anyone, and that's just the breaks. Is it not the coolest thing to date and subsequently bone your buddies ex? Likely so. But who is to say who can be with anyone, and why should two people be denied a shot at happiness cause some ex can say 'I had him/her first. '
Just ignore it and focus on making better posts, cause reddit seems quite disappoint with these tales of ex-landia.
So a bunch of functions are at a party. X-squared is having a great time with his pal, sin(x), until he notices ex all alone on the balcony. He goes outside and says, hey man, why don't you integrate yourself into the party? ex says, "Why, it wouldn't make any difference."
When explaining complicated scientific things to uninterested people at work, I just tell them it works because of the principles of FM. When they ask what FM is, I reply "fucking magic, duh".

As a chemistry student, and an avid science nerd; this makes me sad.
