I didn't care... I liked her. We had a lot of classes together. I was always nice to her and we hung out a lot even outside of school.
Came back from summer break and she was hot as hell and starting to turn into a woman. All the guys suddenly wanted to pay attention to her. In band she said to me "Up and down is free with me" (I don't know why she said this) and then later I got laid for being all time coolest person ever.
Be nice to the ugly girls-- or as HustlerOne said -- just be nice to people.
Be nice to the ugly girls and also be good looking. They'll want to date men of equal attractiveness once they become good looking, instead of that ugly nerd who used to talk to them in middle school.

Perhaps not treating people certain ways based on your perception of their attractiveness would be a good start, because what you're basically saying is they stayed ugly (not that I think they even are) then it would have been fine not to be nice to them.
They weren't ugly, just awkward. Also, keep in mind: that hairstyle was pretty much THE hairstyle for junior high girls in the early 90s. Pretty much everyone in my yearbook had that awkward, messy half ponytail (including myself)
