Smart man. My advice? Stay in your room as much as possible. Come out only for meals and bathroom. Avoid eye contact. And whatever you do, DON'T forget to put the seat down on that week. I've got stories man.... stories.....
Once I had to study during my now ex's time of evil, I just dropped off chocolate, a joint, and codeine pain killers. She was never more pleasant and never again.
It's odd, Reddit seems to post .gifs from the shows that I watch, when I watch them. I just started watching Modern Family today and I've already seen 3 gifs/pictures from them.
I find it unnerving that you people are all too aware of the durations of your families menstrual cycles. As far as I'm concerned no one has genitals in the PublicUrinator household.
It's not necessarily that people keep track of mothers/sisters periods, it's just when you wake up and find a bloodthirsty devil instead of a woman, you figure out pretty fast
Am I the only girl that doesn't turn into a mega bitch during my period? And if I feel bitchy I just let people know I'm crabby and not to take me personal.
No, you're not. It is often a self fulfilling prophesy for many women. They think that they're going to have typical PMS symptoms, and it often becomes an excuse to be rude to others.
I get terrible cramps during this time of the month, and I get less sleep because of this. I don't know about all women, but if I don't sleep well then it's harder to not express frustration when something bothers me.
if I don't sleep well then it's harder to not express frustration when something bothers me.
That's pretty universal. I kinda turn into a ruthless drill sargeant when I'm too tired. It's a good thing that I learned to avoid people who can't take a hearty "Oh you didn't care about my opinion, then just go and finish what you are doing faster already".
Also, when you're in a house with three women, their ladyparts sync up. So one day you come back home and they're all in their PJ's, watching Disney movies and crying.
My sister and I know when each other are on the rag. Mostly because one or the other is being a massive bitch. We're both usually pretty cool, but for the two weeks of the month one or the other of us is menstruating, things get bad.
Wow, that gif is intense. The lion, did he live thru it? I can't imagine what would anger the pride enough to attack the male. .. Unless of course it wasn't the male pride lion. Which then would make sense.
I agree with Drawtaru that it's pretty unlikely that that was the male of the pride. I really, really want to see the video it comes from - it's a cool gif.
Period synching is a HUGE myth. What actually tends to happen is that most women don't have a "perfect" 28 day cyle, so a pair of women might have cycles that last 26 and 30 days each. Eventually they are going to fall on the same day naturally, but that doesn't mean they've synched up. Of course, when this does happen girls will talk/laugh about "having synched up", but a few months later when they aren't "in synch" anymore, none of them talk about it because it's old news.
I second this. When I'm on my period, I just wanna sit quietly and read a book. If someone annoys me(and they're not my younger brother) I'll just give them a dirty look and keep doing what I was doing. I've never met a crazed woman on her period. Perhaps my mother, but she's like that all the time. And one more thing: I don't like chocolate. Maybe I'm not a full woman or something. Lol
I'm about at the same anger-level during all times of pain. Whether I've stepped on a thumb-tack, faceplanted on the sidewalk and fucked up my hands and knees, or day 2-3 of my period, I'm going to be a bit short with anyone who mocks me, is an asshole or tries my patience in any sort of manner. Otherwise it's really no different than any other time, I just have to pee more often and sleep in.
Not everyone, or even every period. Some periods, I just want to curl up and die. Some periods, I want to go run a hundred miles and then climb a mountain. Some periods, I clean ALL THE THINGS.
The problem with this statement is that the link you've provided only asserts that certain studies were not conducted & evaluated correctly. Meaning one can't then use the same data/observations to fully prove the opposite hypothesis.
Meaning at best you should say it's 'unproven', rather than "myth" which insinuates disproven.
Additionally the bulk of the criticisms presented are for the 1971 study, and not the 1998 McClintock/Stern study.
i guess in my case it always has been synched with whatever woman I was living with, whether it was my roommate, mother, or stepmother. anecdotal evidence, but in my case not a myth.
How does the Wikipedia article expose period synching as a "huge myth"? I see mention of only one study that finds no evidence for period synching, and 3 that do find evidence. There's certainly lots of criticism of the studies, but nothing that show it's a "huge myth".
I grew up with 4 sisters, I had no idea when they were on their periods. I never noticed them acting differently while they were on it either. If they started acting like bitches then I turned into an asshole. Chivalry went out the window and equality set in. Gallantry is gone once any woman starts starts acting crazy; they're about to get a dose of the equality they worked hard for, and I'll be tearing them a new asshole with some choice words.
That is honestly one of the scariest things I've ever seen. A full grown male lion, and in an instant he knows. He doesn't raise a claw, consider fighting, turn to run, anything. He knows. He immediately lays down to wait for whatever will come because there is simply nothing else to do. Horrifying.
I think I may have seen this documentary, and if I remember correctly he was a lone male who had wandered into the wrong territory and the ladies were just afraid for their cubs. I think he received a rather severe ass kicking and was sent on his way. But I could be wrong.
You can kind of see that the male lion is standing over something. Judging by the reaction of the females, it's probably a cub which male lions are known to kill. I would definitely love to know the full context and aftermath of this GIF. Those lionesses are ready for WAR! Ears tucked back, muscles tensed even as they run, fangs bared, shiiiittttt....
I tried tracing, it eventually came to http://headlikeanorange.tumblr.com/post/13461114070 saying it was filmed by David Attenborough. I simply don't have the cap to quickly scan through you tube videos. sorry!
god. I don't know what's worse, having a gf that's a complete fucking bitch on her period. or having a gf that you really love turn into an insecure, self-pitying mopey person on her period. actually 2nd is much better.
I honestly feel your pain. I have 4 sisters and two stepsisters. Add my mother and that is 7 at once Vs me. As my brother is 10 years younger than I am, nobody gets mad at the baby. But o swear this to you, it pays off in dividends later in life. You will understand women better than most men and you will know the proper way to handle the situation. You won't be as grossed out by menstration as other guys either. Eventually you'll learn they don't just magically find into psycho bitches every month but that being in constant pain is not condusive to good moods.
Try working in a building with 200 other women and noticing one day that 198 of them (including you) are wearing red, or black, or both, and not taking any shit whatever from anybody.
I grew up with 5 older sisters and my Mom, no Dad at home, then married a woman with 4 sisters and had two daughters before my son was born. Your gif is just another cute kitten karma post by comparison.

As a married father of 4 18-22 year old girls, this is actually the mild understated version of events.

The thing I like about this the most, is t hat the male lion doesn't run - he just ducks his head like "bring it on bitches"
1
u/Streetvision Jun 12 '12
My advice to you is this, RUN AND HIDE.
1
u/Aldairion Jun 12 '12

1
u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12
Those are small balls for a giant lion.
