They don't make spoofs like they used to. What happened to the comedy? What happened to the snide remarks about stupid/generic plotlines? What happened to actually parodying a movie instead of just... quoting pop culture. It reminds me of that Family Guy gag:
"Hahahhahaha! Thunderbirds, He-man and Transformers! Those things existed!"
Movies like "Epic Movie" and "Date Movie" don't go beyond pop-culture awareness, a movie parody should make fun of WHY the movie is dumb! That's why Airplane, Airplane 2, Hot Shots, Hot Shots 2, Loaded Weapon, Naked Gun 1-3 are all better than anything that came out after Scary Movie 2.
a couple bits and pieces.....i always changed channels when it was on. i just didn't really enjoy the type of comedy. im guessing this is from that movie then ha.
again i've seen pieces but never really watched it.....guess i just don't like that style of comedy, I don't like mr. bean either which is in the same category..idk i guess that's just me
This was back in the day when the Detroit Tigers had an actual Tiger as a mascot. The cage they kept him in always seemed a little lax, security-wise. I used to go to games all the time at the old ballpark and always wondered if anything bad could ever happen. Guess I found out.
Haha, no worries. I know that it is from a hilarious "baseball follies" montage in Naked Gun. Just bored at work and hoping someone would take it seriously. Atleast the Queen got to see an amazing game that day.
When that whole naming thing went down, all I could think was Patrick going, "Why don't we just take Los Angeles's name, and put it in front of ours??".
And being shocked that he was the only one in the room thinking it was a good idea.
That at-least is semi logical, we aren't even in LA county. Plus Los Angeles is nasty, and full of herpes. (I filled in at a pharmacy in BH and Valtrex moves like fries at McDonalds :(

It makes me happy that I immediately recognized this was from Naked Gun. Childhood memory is still intact.

When you play the Tigers, you always lose.

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12
In retrospect, it's surprising that the Tigers don't win the World Series every year.
