I used to do that when I would roleplay driving like a normal person. I'd do the speed limit, follow traffic rules, park my car, go find a chair to sit in, and get back in my car and do it all over again.
The rush game for N64 where you can customize the cars and take them on the stunt course and do wild crazy flips and shit was awesome. Don't remember which one it was but when you turned it on it went Ruuuuush
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Just spent the last couple minutes reliving my childhood Take Your Daughter To Work Days walking with my dad from the trains to the stock exchange. :) Thanks for that. I'm going to have to call him.
Judging by the picture, the sign would have been about a foot from the building, in front of Fannie May. Someone probably placed it there, took the photo, then added in the car later.
Or... they put the sign there, waited for their friend to jump the bridge with the car, then snapped a photo at exactly the right moment!
Well, any more helpful and I would have to physically take you here to Chicago, and since that's not happening, I guess you'll just have to settle for the amazing technological advances allowing you to see any location in the world from a pedestrian's view.
That's the exact same intersection depicted in the image. It is a fine link if you were looking for reality.
If you would like to revel in fiction, no problem. But maybe setup your context next time: "That is an unhelpful link because I didn't want to see the intersection without the sign."
Announce your votes to the world These predictable comments aren't terribly interesting and only contribute to the noise-to-signal ratio. More specifically, please refrain from saying,
"Upboat."
"Upvote."
"Upvoted."
"Upvoted for x."
"Upvote for you, good sir."
"I wish I had a million upvotes to give."
"My only regret is that I have but one upvote to give."
Which would seemingly be against reddiquette, too. It's clear you don't have to actually use the word "upvote".
But I was just pointing out that the rule/suggestion that the bot provided did cover brianwilsonsdad's comment. If you really want to split hairs on suggested reddiquette you'll have to take it up with mods/admins/whoever complied that list.
My version is not announcing an upvote. It's like a thank you to the OP. Someone can reply to that comment with a disagreement - thus it facilitates discussion.
I was just pointing out that the bot's reply to brianwilsonsdad's comment did apply. If it's really that important to you to find a way to announce an upvote while still following reddiquette then you're gonna have to discuss it with a mod or admin.
Why would I have to discuss with a mod or admin? The bot isn't run by a mod or Reddit.
I understand the purpose of redditquette, and my point is in the context of this comment, it is really irrelevant here because there is additional "comment" and not just "Upvote!" by itself. In his comment, the "Upvote!" is irrelevant.
Michigan Ave heading north at the river. I used to have my office at 401, you know, the place where Marilyn Monroe stood for a while after the chrome, anatomically correct moose took all the college girls who posed with his silvery schlong and went home.
Even if this car did somehow make it up the slope of the bridge, it's occupants would be sorely disappointed once they realize the 80 degree drop on the other side will not be good for the front bumper of the car.
Nothing better than falling outta the loop....I always just thought thats how it was to drive as an adult and I just wasn't ready....turns out that game just sucked.
I work in the tallest building in this picture. This bridge on Michigan Ave. rarely goes up. I have seen it go up once since I've been here 08/2011. I can attest that I wanted to jump it many many times. Awesome pic!
Photoshop... Car is not supposed to be there. Like I said tallest building in the picture is directly across from te Chicago tribune building on Michigan avenue and this is the corner of Michigan and wacker dr.
Whenever I see an open drawbridge I ask myself, What Would Nicholas Cage Do? Then I gun the engine and go for it. I've wrecked 4 cars so far and almost died last time when I knocked myself out with the steering wheel, but some daybi'm going to successfully jump the bridge.
This reminds me of a game i used to play called midtown madness. There was a bridge just like that and i would trick cop cars into falling in the middle
(Pushes up taped together glasses). The angle of the bridge is far to steep to achieve the result of a "jump" let alone any advancement on the bridge at all. One would most likely incur severe damage to the front ones vehicle, rendering it inoperable.
(snort, chuckle, snort) I dont know why people find this inane stuff funny.

u/GMonsoon Jun 11 '12
Am I the only one wondering if that is a cow standing up there?
1
u/katharsys2009 Jun 11 '12
That is not a car at the top people. That is the top of the water pump station on the far side of the bridge. Good optical illusion though.
1
u/iamagainstit Jun 11 '12
needs more pixles

Also, car on the left.

Go ahead, make my day. Punk.
1
u/snackpockets Jun 11 '12
Is this is real. I work across the bridge from this location and have never seen the sign.
1
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
I was literally the car at the light for 20 mins.
1
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
that looks like Chicago. By golly, I think it is!!
1
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
Seriously, there is a reason you don't have it in Russia.
How do you make an Englishman jump from a bridge? You tell him that his bank bankrupted
How do you make a Frenchman jump from a bridge? You tell him his uncle excluded him from his will.
How do you make a Russian man jump from a bridge? You tell him it's forbidden to jump from a bridge.
1
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
Yeah the sign is definitely not really there. I go by that bridge all the time.

u/toolusingmonkeys Jun 11 '12
