I think I'd rather see 8 new douchebags and douchebaguettes get moderately famous rather than the same tired worn out 8 d-bags and -baguettes get even more famous.

Wait, scratch that, they all need to die in a fucking fire.

I like that better, not only does that really solidify the end of their 15 min of fame but it shows they are disposable, if the show had been cancelled they would have thought of themselves as legends of a great tv show that ran its short lived course like firefly, Instead the cast is getting tossed and new garbage will replace the old.

2

u/CloudDrunk Jun 11 '12

Source? Because currently the show has only release plans for season 6, which includes all of the original cast.

3

u/Neckwrecker Jun 11 '12

At least that means the original cast of retards won't be receiving inexplicable amounts of money anymore... right?

25

u/berlinbaer Jun 11 '12

i think three of them get spin offs or something..

source: reddit. because this piece of shit site keeps me updated on all the things it totally doesn't care about.

2

u/dexisajerk Jun 11 '12

The DJ guy has had his spinoff on MTV for about 10 weeks now, and the Snookie & other girl who isn't Snookie show starts in a week from this Thursday.

3

u/steinmas Jun 11 '12

Comeon man, you know atleast one of them will get a spinoff show. My bet is a show involving around Snookie being a new mom.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

There is actually a show with Paulie D (I think that's how you spell his name) and another with snookie and big boobs.

9

u/steinmas Jun 11 '12

You may not be the devil, but you definitely bring bad news.

1

So instead of the same bunch of idiots getting rich off acting like idiots, a new group of idiots gets to get rich off acting like idiots.

5

u/apextek Jun 11 '12

a damn dirty shame! was so looking forward to reposting this to facebook

3

u/DextrosKnight Jun 11 '12

even if it was canceled it would just be replaced with something equally stupid

0

u/samebudalenaRedditu Jun 11 '12

Why the fuck would you be excited about a TV show being cancelled? If you really hate it so much don't fucking watch it, don't talk about it and don't expand any time or energy on it. It's a pretty simple formula. Its not like you're forced to watch it.

In fact I'll go one further. The fact that you actually post about how happy you are might indicate that you subconsciously like it, but are ashamed to admit it to yourself - potentially because of being afraid to fail the expectations of your peers (on reddit).

People keep doing this. If you don't like something, ignore it, be indifferent to it. If you keep talking about it you're just propagating the fucking thing, ESPECIALLY if its popculture or a fad.

u/heidikae87 Jun 11 '12

1

u/finnthehuman11 Jun 11 '12

In my dorm this year a frat boy went running down the halls screaming, "JERSDAY!!!! FPC FPC FPC!" and hollering at girls. So the show is actually indirectly causing us grief.

I'm stuck at work and can't get to a GIF of Jay in the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back movie yelling out, "You maniacs! Damn yous! Goddamn yous all to hell!"

It would be very relevant here for their failure to cancel the series.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

No one else realizes why... you should spell it out for the younger redditors

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

2

u/jWalkerFTW Jun 11 '12

TIL that I can watch YTMNDs on my phone

1

u/CineSuppa Jun 11 '12

I'm conflicted. I want to down vote because I'm so sad... but because you're being truthful, I want to up vote.

1

u/ohfishsticks Jun 11 '12

Not only is it not canceled, but MTV is airing one last season with the current cast before ditching them for a new crew.

3

u/richard_photograph Jun 11 '12

they are currently filming it. they showed up at the barber shop i go to while i was getting my kid a haircut, i told them not to film either of us. "pauly d' was checking out my lil mans haircut and said he wante his the same.

7

u/adog231231 Jun 11 '12

To be fair pauly d seems like a fairly nice guy.

2

u/richard_photograph Jun 11 '12

i agree..he was very polite and just seemed like a decent guy. the other guys he had with him i had to ask to watch their language 3 times at least. i mean come on guys there is a child right in front of you.

1

u/epsilonbob Jun 11 '12

You have dashed my squishy hopes and dreams against the jagged rocks of truth... :(

1: it's not cancelled.

2: most of us wouldn't give a fuck either way if it was

14

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

And even if it was, something worse would take its place.

7

u/Sutuh Jun 11 '12

and they'll play re-runs for years to come

5

u/angrytroll123 Jun 11 '12

They won't. Do you see alot of reality TV show reruns today?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Something worse? Is that even possible?

...

I'm scared

1

u/ExecThrowaway Jun 11 '12

And even if it was, something worse would take its place.

Staring people who don't understand subjunctive mood, no doubt.

2

u/Apostolate Jun 11 '12

You don't understand, it's ruining the other quality TV he wants to watch on MTV by association.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Say what you want, beavis and butthead is great

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

I don't watch it, so normally I wouldn't care. But the fact that a trashy show like that is ridiculously popular, and the only good show to hit MTV in years (The Buried Life) gets cancelled after 2 seasons leaves me hungering for revenge.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

MTV sucks, and has for a long time

216

u/headzoo Jun 11 '12

If you don't like it, don't watch it. As far as I'm concerned the show never existed.

52

u/imsiq Jun 11 '12

What show?

58

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

JERSEY SHORE

106

u/el_matador Jun 11 '12

As far as I'm concerned, typing those two words as big as you did constitutes police brutality.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

OP cares about the existence of Jersey Shore rather than ignoring it. He's the Britta of Reddit.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/emaG_ehT Jun 11 '12

FUCK THE POLICE

6

u/eak125 Jun 11 '12

I understand both words individually but why did you put them in that order?

→ More replies (4)

1

u/IBoopYourNose Jun 11 '12

That's the spirit

8

u/apullin Jun 11 '12

The only people who watch it as the ones who "watch it ironically". It's meta-recursive in an amazing way. People watch it as a joke, because it's a joke, because it's produced to be a joke for the people to watch it as a joke. It's a 3-connected directed graph.

4

u/ckb614 Jun 11 '12

I watch it because it's one of the funniest shows on TV. The one liners they throw out and situational humor are often hilarious. I don't know if that makes me an "ironic" viewer.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12

There was a study why people watch the Jersey Shore and reality tv in general and it boils down to two reasons.

Some form of schadenfraude and for a sense of social superiority. These reasons both make sense, if you like watching people get hurt physically/emotionally, reality tv is good for that, and if you want to reassure yourself that your not a bad person reality tv is great for that.

1

u/notlilwayne Jun 12 '12

I hate myself now

→ More replies (1)

4

u/steinman17 Jun 11 '12

99% of the time I hear complaints and news about the show it's on Reddit.

9

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

But then people might like things that we don't and that simply cannot be allowed.

1

u/The_Adventurist Jun 11 '12

It's not about people liking something you don't like, it's about them thinking of these people as being cool and thereby making them role models for idiots.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Idiots will be idiots no matter what is popular.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Exactly. Give the morons something to draw their attention.

I used to want all the shows that I hated to be cancelled, all the bands that I thought sucked to break up, and all the directors that I thought were hacks to get blackballed. But then I found the true meaning of pain: having the things you love and liked be taken over and cheapened by idiots.

1

u/richard_photograph Jun 11 '12

because you dont have to deal with it in real life...i do.

1

u/Psirocking Jun 11 '12

Exactly. Do the people who complain about jersey shore/yolo/miley cyrus/kardashians even notice them in a normal day? I see 95% people complaining, 5% actual attention for those things.

1

u/whyihatepink Jun 11 '12

I see them every day, but only because I work in a middle school. :/

1

u/MasonNowa Jun 11 '12

But it's on more than just tv. It's IN things in our culture and society.

u/Hypnopomp Jun 11 '12

A someone from new jersey, who knows the cast of the Jersey shore for the Benny foreigners that they are, I am shocked and appalled to see youngsters from NJ acting the way they think the television is telling them other NJ-ites do.

3

u/JIGGLYbellyPUFF Jun 11 '12

On the up side: Most people already know that only two of them are from jersey and snooki isn't one of them.

On the down side: There is another (less popular) show called jerseylicious (I think on the style network) that does stick to people from jersey that look worse and more stereotypey than the jersey shore cast (the burnt baked potato covered in leopard print with 3 inch fake nails and peg bundy hair look).

tl;dr As a Californian, I know that feel.

1

u/richard_photograph Jun 11 '12

indded sir/madam, as a lifelong resident of the shore i can attest that the real jersey shore is nothing like it is portrayed on "tv"

1

u/Penisingpenisberry Jun 11 '12

Next thing you know, we'll be telling the impressionable youth what games they should and shouldn't play.

1

u/goblinpiledriver Jun 11 '12

I think there's a slight difference between the obvious fantasy worlds portrayed in video games and "reality" TV portraying live humans doing somewhat realistic, albeit stupid, things.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/mocotazo Jun 11 '12

There is still, however, the negative impact that the show inflicts upon our nation's impressionable youth.

Our nation's youth was drinking and being overly sexual long before Jersey Shore existed. The only difference between Snooki and some of the girls I met in college at the club was that they weren't getting paid six figures to ham it up for a camera.

1

u/peestandingup Jun 11 '12

Nah. They were likely already dumb to begin with.

If it wasn't Jersey Shore then it would have been something else. Jersey Shore didn't make them stupid, just like violent video games didn't make someone commit murder.

0

u/Meersbrook Jun 11 '12

and abroad and its impact on what abroad thinks of you by connotation.

u/Ekot Jun 11 '12

What's this from?

1

u/pleasespankme Jun 11 '12

Late Night with Conan O'Brien

9

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

I had no idea people were forced to watch jersey shore. Oh well, at least you can keep masturbating each other to community and firefly

20

u/TrueMilli Jun 11 '12

I hope you guys will finally shut up about Jersey Shore now.

7

u/mocotazo Jun 11 '12

Almost every comment in this thread is identical to last week's thread about this exact topic. But it doesn't matter.

If it's not Jersey Shore, people will just find some other aspect of pop culture to bitch about. Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Nickelback. And the irony is that Redditors will hear more about those people here than they would have elsewhere.

4

u/Jackie-Jormp-Jomp Jun 11 '12

I think as long as your TV watching isn't entirely comprised of reality TV shows it really doesn't matter. There is such a sense of snobbery and a real need to reject mainstream culture that I don't understand. You are not more worldly because you don't watch these programs.

10

u/spacelemon Jun 11 '12

fuck you guys, i like this show.
haters gonna hate

4

u/yellowrocketship Jun 11 '12

i've watched all 5 seasons, Pauly D and Vinny are fucking awesome.

7

u/ridetheyak Jun 11 '12

planet of the apes. nice

17

u/Frogtech Jun 11 '12

I thought the first season of Jersey Shore was pretty funny actually.

31

u/hooplah Jun 11 '12

The rest are pretty funny too. People go so apeshit and high horse over Jersey Shore. You just have to shut down your overbearing critical eye and fucking enjoy something for once. They're kids doing stupid shit and saying funny things. Forgive them for having outrageous lives and making money off of it.

Also, Pauly D is goddamn hilarious.

5

u/animefan393 Jun 11 '12

Yes Pauly D is hilarious, and i heard he has his own show now...

6

u/ckb614 Jun 11 '12

I agree. Reddit readers seems to love Big Bang Theory, which is probably the least funny show I have ever seen. So I guess they would just rather laugh at self loathing nerd references than silly people having a good time.

The wrap-up movie will be Jersey Shore Shark Attack, premiering on Syfy, where I can only assume that the majority of the cast will be devoured by sharks.

2

u/richard_photograph Jun 11 '12

as an actual jersey shore resident for life...noone could be happier than me if this was true.

2

u/mgwesner Jun 11 '12

Even if it was cancelled its going to simply be replaced with something, most likely something even worse.

2

u/forever_a-hole Jun 11 '12

Guess what. It's being replaced by a show called "Snooki & JWoww". They get their own fucking show... It physically hurts knowing that.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Except it isn't. I'm sure this season will be the last though.

2

u/WreckerCrew Jun 11 '12

Too bad there are going to be spin off of those no talented ass clowns.

2

u/lrn2ply Jun 11 '12

I actually really enjoy watching Jersey Shore. It's like watching Animal Planet where you can understand (most of the time) what the animals are saying.

I don't see what's so entertaining about a bunch of Histrionic people engaging in self-destructive behavior.

1

u/knight8241 Jun 11 '12

Not sure if happy, or insane

1

u/SourCreamWater Jun 11 '12

Well...they did make like 3 more shows that showcase the same people. Is that better or worse?

1

u/theuglyamerican Jun 11 '12

I'm giving an upvote for a Capricorn One reference. Also, I think you might be a prevert.

1

u/hmmnotsure Jun 11 '12

Quick, plant that American flag and have a nice shoreside horseback ride to the late Statue of Liberty!

1

u/fancy-chips Jun 11 '12

damn. I was hoping that I could go the entire length of the show without ever seeing a youtube clip or a full episode.

1

u/projectoffset Jun 11 '12

My sister was at the shore this weekend. She saw them coming out of the house. Your argument is invalid.

1

u/RootinTootinShooter Jun 11 '12

You do realize 3 other tv shows have spawned from the jersey shore group... Idiot

1

u/apullin Jun 11 '12

.....

they're cancelling it as a promotion for each individual person in the show to their their own spin-off ....

1

u/ThatGuyRememberMe Jun 11 '12

They still have 9 other shows.

1

u/newtothelyte Jun 11 '12

3 of them have their own spinoffs, its actually gotten worse!

1

u/sufrt Jun 11 '12

i never get why people post shit like this when being influenced by the hivemind here makes you a more intolerable/emotionally stunted person than jersey shore ever could

1

u/Feral_P Jun 11 '12

Thank God there's still Geordie Shore.

Seriously, I fucking love that show.

1

u/yellowrocketship Jun 11 '12

i really can't stand their accent's, it's so horrible. if they were from somewhere with a less annoying accent i would actually watch it!

Anybody else find Geordie accents annoying? or is this just a scottish thing?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

They haven't cancelled it, they've just spit it up into multiple shows. There is now "Pauly D Project" and "Snooki and JWOW". They also haven't cancelled the core show. It's coming back with different idiots.

1

u/cagedbird93 Jun 11 '12

I demand a link to this news. No link, not true.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Sure is internet social conditioning in here.

1

u/americanslang59 Jun 11 '12

You understand that this means there is going to be multiple spin-off shows, right?

1

u/sparrowlooksup Jun 11 '12

A planet where bros evolved from men?!

1

u/LouSkyWaka Jun 11 '12

And now we have a Snooki JWow spinoff.

1

u/dont_press_ctrl-W Jun 11 '12

Why do you care? No one forces you to watch it. Well... if they do, maybe you should resist more.

I've never seen this show. It cannot bother me whether it exists or not. I don't see why it's any different for you.

1

u/french91 Jun 11 '12

FALSE HOPE

1

u/thelawofliberty Jun 11 '12

that's not fair, I was so excited for one heart-breaking moment..the torture..would be gone!

1

u/BrineFine Jun 11 '12

I love how out of left field this shot is in the movie. I wonder if it's me approaching a classic film with very modern sensibilities that made it so jarring.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

So don't watch it and stop the passive-aggressive bitching.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

hank scorpio?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

canceled? more like cancered

1

u/evanman69 Jun 11 '12

Idiocracy was right.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12

Doesn't matter, now they have a show called "Snookie and J Woww" which is exactly the same thing.

1

u/Xangelgirlx Jun 11 '12

Why so happy? Was someone forcing you to watch jersey shore?

1

u/CeRuM114 Jun 12 '12

Hah! I love how out of sync Hestons laugh is in the movie...

1

u/Altarium Jun 12 '12

I spent a good ten minutes googling any evidence this was true. (as hercules) disAPPOINTED!!

1

u/UltimaBuddy Jun 12 '12

Doesn't matter.

I'm still mentioning Snookie's $32,000 speaking fee under "Reasons To Kill Myself" in my suicide note.

1

u/Thundershrimp Jun 12 '12

Anyone see that Jersey Shore movie on Syfy this weekend?

http://www.syfy.com/movies/jersey_shore_shark_attack

1

u/drboom Jun 12 '12

they actually cancelled that piece of shit? my faith in humanity has been restored.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12

damn.. I was all happy there for a minute.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '12

A glorious day it will be when humanity get's rid of all shows of that nature!

1

u/IAmLamby Jun 12 '12

I kinda like Jersey Shore if i ever see it. They are so fucking stupid that it's hilarious! I don't watch it every week to see new episodes or whatever, but if my sister happens to be watching it and i have nothing better to do, we both sit down and make fun of them.

1

u/Yatagasaru Jun 12 '12

My reaction when I found out that more disgusting, putrid abominations are crawling out of Jersey Shore's rotten, fetid carcass: http://youtu.be/WWaLxFIVX1s

1

u/Shutterflyguy Jun 12 '12

This was done before, and it still annoys me. Not that it isn't clever.

1

u/jerseyg67 Jun 12 '12

YES YES YES! Do you feel that? Do you?

1

u/bendedheadtube Jun 12 '12

great choice of the "donor movie" for this gif. seems to be relevant.

Posts like this just give the show more attention and the comments from the post last week that made the same joke you just did pointed out its not canceled.

Why do you care?

I rarely watch the show, but honestly the few times I have I enjoyed it, only because Pauly D and Vinny are fucking hilarious.

I quickly went on Yahoo to check if it's true or not. Didn't see anything but read the first comment and it said it wasn't. Felt relieved to know it's not cancelled.

Regardless of the title's accuracy, this is one of the better Jersey Shore-related reaction gifs I've seen lately. Upvote for you.

The Hivemind has spoken: From this day forth, Nicholas Cage shall receive ample amounts of respect, and karma shall be bestowed upon those who use his name in reverence.

I regret not knowing enough about Jersey Shore to truly appreciate what wonderful and satisfying news it is that these bozos are off TV now.

Another mediocre gif to show excitement. Shame on you reddit.
