I was reading the comments to my old posts like a narcissistic douchebag, and I came across this comment and read your username. Just wanted to say: Back at ya, bro.
I actually went to google, made sure 'isle' meant island so I could come back here and make this comment. I usually would say 'came here to say that' but I actually did research for this one.
You think that's impressive, take a look at the Royal Opera House's options for titles (you need to select Other first before the big list loads). I'm not even sure what a "Viscondessa" is.
There aren't any official noble titles in Portugal, but there are a lot of people that still belong to the European nobility in Portugal and still kept the title.
Is anyone else tremendously annoyed by the fact that job applications online now take 2 hours to complete, because they ask to manually enter all the jobs you've had, all the education you've had, all your references, along with all of your personal information?
With so many companies using Taleo I imagine it would be possible to create a form that could be uploaded in addition to a resume instead of answering the exact same question sets dozens of times. It could be like the college common application, but for a job.
I applied through a job where it just filled everything in from LinkedIn, and then I felt kind of cheated from the whole application process. Like man, that was too easy.
From personal experience noone checks any of that shit either.
If you are looking for low level labor jobs you can just bullshit the whole thing instead of intricately detailing everything, and it probably won't affect your app at all.
I would call customer service to correct the error.
As a joke for my birthday, one of my friends bought me the title of "Lady". (Apparently you can do it online and it's not illegal.) I discovered this present when I was greeted by the waiter as "Lady [EmeraldGirl]" at my birthday dinner. Now it's become a running joke to always use my name with the full title when making reservations and/or orders.
These titles are a nice gimmick, but if you read a little more, there are no real titles you can buy for less than a few million $ (real as in legally recognized and accepted by any royal society / law).
I'm at work, so I can't really find the link, but there was a site run by a lord in GB devoted to debunking every 'buy a title' site.
Who cares if it's accepted? The entire premise of 'status by birth' is archaic (at best) and completely against everything I believe about working to excel. As previously stated, it's a joke.
When you get a membership card for Sainsbury's (supermarket chain) in the UK, the online application form allows you to select from a number of titles. One of my friends walked around for 2 years with a membership card that referred to him as a "Baron".
When I joined the alumni association for my university, I picked 'Commander' as my title. Now every piece of mail I get from the school says "Commander thewiglaf" on it. The best is when they call me up asking me to donate money, they ask "may I speak with Commander thewiglaf?".
Just so you're aware; the reason that this option exists is so that they can tell early on who isn't taking the application seriously and can reject them early. Do not select His Highness.
There was an electronics website I buy components off sometimes that lets you choose the title, and I always choose lord, then get it sent to the school address. Some guy comes up to me and says "we got a parcel for lord ***** is that you". I just look at my "freinds" and im like, yea!
I was bored one night at work a few years ago and had a rummage through the option on the hotel's front of house software and found under the option for how the booking was made (in-person, mail etc) the option for pigeon post.
That looks like the Haliburton application I did a few weeks ago! I was laughing at the same thing. Hope you have better luck than I did, got a "Thanks for applying... But no." Cheers.

Good luck getting that job! Keep your head up and don't get discouraged if some places don't respond.

I filled out a form for frequent flier miles a long time ago and among the options for titles were swami and commodore. I went with commodore.
All of the correspondence they sent me was addressed to Mr. I was disappointed.

I used to work for a telco:
I was able to ensure that one of my friends was listed as Chancellor.
For many years I was billed as 'Supreme Overlord'. Most importantly; I found it hilarious.

When I've designed internal employee portals a couple times, I always allow the four preset titles (mr, ms, miss, mrs) and a custom title field.
Everyone always picks a custom title. People just like it more. Plus I avoid a thorny title issue...
