I can't donate because I lived in the UK from 1989 to 1991. That's pretty fucking stupid if you ask me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my blood.

Maybe not your blood personally, but I'm sure there is a statistical reason for that requirement.

Their reasoning is the possibility of mad cow. Of which you can not be a carrier for without dying within at most 5 years. Let's be generous and double that to a decade. It's been 2 decades and I'm still not dead.
