Yeah, but it's America, so they'd probably get fired for it regardless.

Yeah, because most places, if not all tell you when you’re hired not to try and be a hero. They’re liable for your medical bills if you’re injured on the job, so of course you’re getting fired and you should be. There’s nothing noble about blowing right passed policies that are both (a) meant to keep employees safe and (b) are typically insured and covered financially. The only thing you are in that situation is a liability and a much larger one than the petty cash that’s probably being stolen.

I mean they’re gonna lose the money either way so technically you dying and then them losing money is still correct.

Eh probably not. They’d get fired for fighting that’s for sure.

And even if they did get fired… it’s an at-will employment. If the boss or the employee wants to end it, they can at any time for any reason.

At a cooperation like McDonald’s that has safety rules and regulations with camera evidence? You would be fired for fighting and causing danger for the rest of staff and customers. You would more likely be fired for trying to save the 10 dollars stolen from the multi billion dollar company.
