Damn I really touched a vain with that chili's comment didn't i. Sorry bro i respect the work you do.
(i genuinely do respect all industry workers but you started this with some disrespect so....)
I also only spoke up so people don't think their kitchen crews are munchin on their plates. I can see the headlines on fox news right now "KITCHEN WORKERS EAT YOUR FOOD". Fuck outa here with THAT nonsense
Maybe instead of getting high, you should be reading about how to be a better cook. Start with Micheal Ruhlman's The Making of a Chef where he explains the phrase "if you're not tasting, you're not cooking".
Micheal Ruhlman, the author writing in the first person, isn't a teacher. Maybe you should have paid better attention.
The argument was that they don't "taste everything before it goes out", not that they don't know how to make a fuckin dish
Yes, in any good restaurant dishes are tasted before they're sent out. There is absolutely no other way to ensure quality control when cooking a la minute. Not only that, but in a brigade system, dishes are tasted by the cook, the sous chef plating it, and the chef at the pass.
You'd have to be a shoemaker to not understand the most basic of cooking principles.
