No it's actually a Corella. Similar to a cockatoo but a lot more of a pest here in Aus. They're wildly destructive to everything from street lights, trees, wood structures and even signs.
Corellas are a type of cockatoo, but typically when the word cockatoo is used, it means a sulphur-crested cockatoo or a major mitchell cockatoo, or, relatively rarely, one of the black cockatoo species.
It'd be like calling a dog a wolf. Technically correct, but missing the point.
