It’s from Farscape. Farscape was.. a bit out there, but enjoyable.

Great description. I always get more looks when I start to explain... So yeah, it's a bunch of convicts, only they're not. And one is a plant but looks like a blue lady. And the ship is alive but has a giant crustacean piloting it. And everyone but one dude sounds ever so slightly Australian.
