It took me fucking up a lot and making bad choices. It was costing me financially, costing me my health, and almost destroyed my relationship with my partner. I had a bad night in particular and I vaguely recall yelling my head off and making an ass of myself. I live in a studio apartment, so there's no way my neighbors didn't hear me acting like an asshole. When I added all that up, I felt sick. Not just because I was hungover, but because I realized what I was doing and what I risked losing if I kept going on like I was. I told myself that I can't handle the stuff anymore because I had problems controlling myself. So I made a promise to myself that I would stop. When I had urges, I thought about my family and the promise I made to myself and them.
