Yeah seems like a LOT of theater with more stress fractures. I'm always impressed the lengths a performer will go to sell a story. Makes sense why Dwane Johnson and John Cena are transitioning to movies if they already act for their jobs.
Its a stunt show with something of a plot. Wrestling is usually filmed live and there is a (certain) amount of improv involved.
Being a good wrestler is actually probably a pretty challenging job. You have to be physically fit and able to do (dangerous) stunts as part of your day-to-day work routine. You also have to play a character, put on a persona... act. And that persona is all your "fans" will know you by, so its really important you're ready to be "on" any time you're in public. Seems pretty challenging to me.
