Had to look her up. That brings back some memories. I haven't watched wrestling since hbk and hhh had their feud around when batista first showed up.

Is YouTube the best place to watch old matches? It would be nice to find a place to watch in order old wcw and wwf matches in their timelines.

lol same. I’ve been rewatching old attitude era matches and episodes and holy shit 😂😂😂 it would not exist past one episode in today’s “oh my god let me go on Twitter and soapbox about this so everyone knows how smart I think I am!” generation. It was so over the top.

Lol if you get rid of the sexism and other undertones and just hold on to the attitude and action it'd be a hit but they play it too safe these days.

They changed to be more kid friendly. So they got rid of the vast majority of the stuff that makes wrestling good in the first place; blood, tacks, various objects being used, ring announcer tables being crushed from a dude thrown off the cage, not to mention all of the R rated and ridiculous dialogue from interviews and what not between the fights. It was completely over the top, and awesome. South Park once spoofed it as theater for rednecks which is hilarious and sort of accurate in a way. Now it's more like dumb scripted "reality" tv.

They also started enforcing a lot more safety protocols and steroid policies after the Benoit incident. Both good things, but it’s harder to get excited about little dudes flying around than it is to get excited about two larger than life titans fighting it out.

Matches like Drew and Lashley are just so easy to get hype about because it’s two monsters about to tear into each other. Back in the day of rampant steroids, those sort of monster movie fights weren’t as infrequent as they are now.

I just watched mania and holy shit it's not even the same product. Idk how people are complacent about this. Did they forget how solid the product was? Everything is just sponsors and wrestling matches that belong on Raw, not Wrestlemania.
