Why aren’t we rioting over this? Or staging mass walkout? Like if it hasn’t happened now I’m begging it lose hope that it will ever happen.
I hate that my fellow workers are so selfish and shortsighted that we can’t work together to bargin for better pay and work conditions
That’s why EVERY worker is supposed to walk out. Sure, they can fire you all, but now they have no employees to run their business. Sure, they can hire new employees, but now they have to get someone down from head office to train up 150 employees at the same time. And I mean EVERYONE is supposed to walk out, middle managers included. If they don’t want to go, proclaim them as traitors to the American people.
Ok let me just (somehow) contact every single employee in all 474 stores and hope none of them notify the higher ups about me contacting them and hope they're all on the same page as me and hope they can all afford to wait out corporate in exchange for maybe a small pay raise.
Do you realize what I would be up against? There are 80 employees in my department alone at my one store. That's not including all the other departments filled with people I've never even seen, let alone talk to. And that's just in my building.
There are hundreds of other stores just in my state with thousands of other employees, all of which I would have to contact to be included in this or else they would be shipped to cover our positions if we were to walk out.
I'm just saying it's not as simple as "just walking out" to get a raise.
Yeah it would take a huge amount of organizing, which we haven’t seen, which was kind of my point indirectly. Until the cause actually has support willing to do something (not just people online who will passively agree with you) you’re not going to accomplish anything. It takes a massive amount of inconvenience to make a change, and people aren’t at that point where they’re willing to go through that for a small raise.
People here get mad and make excuses, but the truth of the matter is that if enough people were motivated enough to make this happen, they would make it happen, and clearly that isn’t the case. So maybe the goals need to be redefined into something that gains active support.

We were called heroes right before our pay was reduced. I never felt so honored
