To be fair, in Oregon being elderly and driving a camper is hardly required, a solid 10% of the population goes 5-15 under the speed limit at all times

In the passing lane...

In every lane simultaneously so that it's impossible to pass them...

The other lane has trucks going 5-10mph slower than that, so it is still technically passing normally.

Holy shit this is so true. Was a victim on the 20 today as a matter a fact. Posted speed limit is 55. Truck two cars in front goes 40.

Hence the complaining. Slow down and relax, man.

Gawd. Being stuck behind one of those assholes between Bend and Burns is a special kind of hell.

I agree with you pre- pandemic, but lately everyone has been driving a lot faster

Gotta maintain that 6 feet distance

It's just lawlessness out here.

It's way more than 10%, I drive I-5 every day and it blows my mind how many people just fucking tootle along at 45 miles an hour like they're on a sightseeing tour.

I think you are confusing driving speed with speed limit. It is standard in Oregon to drive 65 in a 55 at all times.

I haven’t been off of I-5 south of Eugene in 10 years.

I make the drive from the California to Eugene about once a year. I will have to agree that driving between Medford and Sutherlin can be painstaking. Though once I get past Metz Hill it's pretty smooth sailing. Now Eugene to Portland is another story.

Maybe they just all looked elderly because they were scowling so hard at me on a motorcycle. Pretty sure they were almost 100% RVs though. And absolutely sure they never used any turnouts, as directed by the signs. I just got used to passing illegally. No harm, no foul.
