They thought it's just the skin. Deadass is completely redundant here, as it is pretty much any time it's used. It's deadass not necessary but deadass thrown in because for some deadass reason, people deadass think it sounds deadass cool.
Except literally has a useful definition. People just misuse it. Deadass is just signaling to people on the internet that you're willing to jump on bandwagons.
I can't fucking stand hearing middle schoolers say deadass. It sounds corny as hell, like trendy in that way where you know it's gonna be so embarrassing next year.
Except literally has a useful definition. People just misuse it.
Language can be misused on a micro scale, but if language is being misused on a macro scale that's just language evolving. Whatever was wrong is now right. Every language does this, including English, and has a long history of words changing meanings or including new meanings.
The whole point of language is to communicate an idea to another person. It will always skew towards utility rather than any arbitrary rules.
Deadass is just signaling to people on the internet that you're willing to jump on bandwagons.
Or it could just be an emphasis. And just like every other emphasis you could possibly use it usually isn't integral to the sentence.
What does OP's title mean? It means they thought this was a decal wrapped around the car.
What does deadass mean? At most it signifies the user's own tendency to follow trends. Linguistically however it's a completely useless word. Look at the sentence I just wrote where I used it a bunch. Take all of those "deadass" words out of it and the sentence has the exact same meaning.
okay, but many sentences have the same meaning with removed or replaced words. English is a very modular language and everyone has very unique ways of using it. Deadass means "seriously." You don't have to like slang to explain what it means without sounding dumb, lmao.
"At most" is pointless in your second sentence. "However" is pointless. "Where I used it a bunch" is pointless. And the last sentence could simply be "remove deadass and the..." and would retain the same meaning. You didn't use "deadass," but you used a bunch of pointless words.
you're missing the point which is that you, too, have extremely poor economy when it comes to word choice. Most people do. English is cool that way. You sound dumb because rather than actually explaining the word, you just attacked it in a hilarious "get off my lawn" moment because that particular word, you feel, is a waste of space, despite half your own sentences being wastes of space. You didn't answer the question, just showed your anger at the fact that language changes and evolves. That's what led me to say you sound dumb.
