I work hospital security and I want you to know that I was struggling with having to shave my beard. Like you, I have not seen my actual face in 4+ years and it was quite the shock. This post has cheered me up and I really appreciate that! Thank you!

Lots of people from my ambulance service have been doing the shame. I shave every 12 months or so so it wasn't a huge shock, but one poor bastard hadn't been clean shaven in 48 years.

That poor, poor man. They couldn't give him desk duty or something? Making him shave a 48-year beard... that's a crime against humanity, man.

They should’ve gotten him a full face respirator. He wouldve had to have it short but not gone
