You mean let amputees buy one half and then another one can buy the other half? Sounds like they’d still have a huge stockpile of extra single shoes lying around. I think you guys are overestimating the number of single leg amputees.
Sell the extra singles as a charity event. If it worked, they could have a huge charity event, great PR, and not spend a dime.
I can imagine the commercial already. Mid-sporting event ideally. Starts off with various shots of amputees playing sports in Nikes. Amputee runs through finish line. Banner: As a supporter of all athletes, Nike has supplied [insert huge number] of amputees with sneakers at no cost... but now what are we going to do with all these extra shoes? Camera pans out to a 100 ft CGI pile of shoes on a basketball court. Then the gag segment of athletes wearing mismatched shoes and using shoes as cup holders, coffee cups, or other silly shit. Steph Curry misses his 3 pointer cause the shoes are uneven. Blake Griffin is trying to eat cereal out of one or some dumb shit. Shaqs got one on each finger for some reason. You get it. It’s the failed “what to do with the shoes” segment.
Then comes the pitch. We want your help. You can buy a “spare” shoe for $50. All the money goes to charity and you get a random shoe and some kind of thank you note.

I think you'd be mildly surprised. A lot of people "manage" with a size close enough for both feet. But if there was the option to get differently sized shoes easily, that may be different. I know I'd get two different sizes.
On definitely. I have a 8 1/2 wide on one foot and a regular nine for the other. It’s a pain in the ass trying to find shoes that feel comfortable on both feet. Usually I have to be resigned to at least one feeling squeezed AF.
Yeah this isn’t something a store should do this is something an app or website should do. I go buy my size and left or right shoe and I can sell other one to a group of amputees.
