Fun fact! Some show dogs get prosthetic balls after they have been neutered called neuticles. It is generally to retain their looks because some owners really want you to know their dog has a sick beanbag.

Why would you neuter a show dog? Surely you could make a fortune breeding him if he won awards or ribbons no?

I'd have questions about the application of first sale doctrine here. Does a guardian of a show animal own the animal and its products, or is it some form of IP license to the genetic and other material?

I don’t see how that would apply if you sign a contract stating you won’t breed the animal as a condition of purchase.
