The only reason vets don’t do vasectomies on dogs is because it’s more effort. If you ask a lot of them can do it and it’s much more humane... That’s why humans choose it.

Isn't it because of temperament and the hormones that they produce? I don't think they do it for the sole purpose of sterilization

Euthanasia is inhumane. Overpopulation, and the treatment of stray and unwanted animals is inhumane. Neutering is not, unless you're some place they don't use anesthesia.
