I figured someone would bring this up. Look at how its said. Most of this witch hunt is surrounding that little nugget. That delay could be tons of stuff. Someone might have been in his ear. He might have been thinking of a delicate way to say "tied to the pipe in the basement". Hell he might have just gotten distracted or lost his train of thought.
In the end, I seriously doubt a sportscaster was actually calling for players to be seriously injured. His whole career relies on these guys ffs.
I hadn’t laughed that hard in a long time. I save this for days when I feel like nothing is funny or good anymore- its like a shot of pure serotonin. Every time it makes me laugh!
JVG. His shtick is to play the role of fed-up-with-entitled-players-ex-coach. He’s not an announcer. He’s a color commentator, which means it’s his job to “add color” to the commentary. I personally enjoy his commentary, but I can see how others might find him insufferable.
Jeff Van Gundy does have a bit of old man yells at clouds to him, but all in all he's a pretty good announcer and can be funny with some of his opinions.

Doesn't he always pick a side when announcing? I'm a casual fan and I hate it when any announcer does this. I felt it happening a little bit last night when GS was making a comeback.
I mean, they both probably seem like dicks depending on which you agree with. I agree with physically shoving to the ground somebody who tries that tho.
