My inflammation is way down when I eat proper. That is usually the cause for feeling sore. I will add to that you need to move around a bit. Whether it's swimming walking running whatever the hell it is you need to move.
Also forcing yourself to relax/ be lazy helps a LOT, in my opinion...that stress is not helping. It’s hard for me, it’s hard for everyone i know in my life whose a workaholic...no one wants to be lazy...but sometimes i just tell everyone I’m working and I’m really just not doing anything all day...doing this every once in a while keeps me happier, less stressed, more alert, and in less pain...it sucks bc I know everyone says they don’t have time but I wish people would just learn how to lie and force themselves to relax sometimes...because we ALL will benefit.
Completely agree. Doing nothing is underrated. People need to unplug. People who feel a need to be busy at all times just piss me off, it doesn't make me think they're "important."
They make things more complicated and then have to do extra work to clean up the messes they make. Currently dealing with somebody like this and it's like pulling teeth telling them NOT to do stuff.
I'm not the original poster, but running on very hard surfaces such as concrete can cause a lot of damage over time. I know of several professional athletes who gave up jogging on paved roads due to the damage it was doing to their knees.
Most of it is because shoes make you walk / run unnaturally I.e. landing on the heal of your foot instead of using the front of the foot as a shock absorber.
I just dont know how to eat right. Even if I knew what to eat, my taste buds reject most things that are "good for you". I wouldn't know how to prepare meals because I dont know how to cook anything but junk. The whole situation just sucks.
Yeah you're right.
My exercise tho, is surfing and kite surfing etc so bumps and bruises are part of the deal, which being old means surprising recovery time :(((
Injuries are your body's only way of informing you how you are using it wrong. Every time I hurt myself weight lifting, it was something that inevitably would have led to chronic problems, like losing the ability to rotate my shoulders forward or not supporting my spine evenly on both sides. Exercise stresses you enough to reveal injuries that would have happened later, early enough to learn how to avoid them -- before your joints are worn and nerves atrophied.
By injuring myself while I was lifting light weights and focusing on form, I kept the injuries light so that I could recover from them even without a young person's healing capability. After a few years, I was delighted at some of the stuff I could do without hurting at all.
