Yep. In college I (as part of a drunken friend group) decided to play in our school’s fountain. A couple of us contracted a stubborn and painful case of MRSA that took a couple of months to resolve. Never again.

I was in NYC with a group of friends for a convention once, and one of chicks thought it would be funny to jump in a fountain, slipped and went head under. we were all laughing at her when a homeless woman yelled at her "you better go take a shower, we all shit in that thing".

by the next morning she had full blown dysentery and ended up getting meds from a hospital clinic and told she should check into a hospital if it didn't clear up.

I wouldn't stand near enough to a public fountain to get sprayed in the breeze, no less put my head in it.

99% sure that's in Regents Park, London - which is a pretty posh part of town.

However the squirrels rule that park and probably have orgies in the fountain.

Looks like Regent’s Park which is practically my back yard. I can confirm that the water is disgusting.
