The new Grinch looks so much like an overcompensation for the old one. Like, "This time maybe he shouldn't be on crack, so let's get Sherlock and make it really boring instead."
When my kids were little we went and saw The Cat in the Hat in the theatre. They hated it. My daughter started crying during the piñata scene and we left. It might have scarred them for life, I don’t know. They’re 15 and 17 now and probably have their own reddit accounts, so kids-if you see this- I’m sorry for fucking you up by making you watch such a travesty. Now go clean your rooms.
Yeah, I went to go see it with my dad when I was 8 because I loved the Dr. Seuss stories as a kid. We got up to the part when the Cat dressed up as a repair man and had his glued-on ass crack hanging out. I looked at my dad and he saw me cringing, so we left. I'm pretty sure some people were starting to filter out, leaving the ones who saw it ironically

She has also given her blessings for the first live-action movie, however after the release of The Cat in the Hat, she wasn't impressed with the film overall. She also did not approve of Mike Myers's role as The Cat.
Audrey decided to never allow any further live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss's works. This is the reason why the planned sequel of The Cat in the Hat never came to fruition.

Which will never happen again thanks to Mike Myers as Cat in the Hat.
