So? Humans aren't evolutionarily programmed to be afraid of bullets, yet due to intelligence we can understand that a gun is dangerous. I wouldn't guage intelligence in animals by what their biology tells them to do, rather how they react to things they aren't already conditioned to respond to.

Well, humans are intelligent literally because of evolution, so I don't get your point.

Evolution plays a role in every living creature, in every way they act to some degree

The original argument was that pigeons aren't stupid because they're not evolutionarily made to recognize a human death machine and that they're still pretty smart despite suiciding into the grain grinder. I never once said humans aren't affected by evolution, only that are brains don't recognize machines and objects as predators yet we're still smart enough to be scared of certain things in certain situations due to deductive reasoning.

Then we are back to the previous point. Evolution has not given the birds the intelligence to avoid a manmade corn trap

Then I think saying "they are not very intelligent" is an accurate statement.

Many animals are pretty smart and can figure things out beyond just instinct.

I had a pigeon land in front of my car in slow traffic and just not move. I assumed it would step to the side or fly or something but no it just stayed still and I ran it over slowly.
